This morning during business hours I was able to linked my account without any problem. B2B is running on a clock 9 to 5 kind a thing lol
We had a problem with these people a while back. They seemed to have misplaced the principal amount of our GIC investment at time of maturity and were very slow in returning it to us. After numerous back and forth discussions and negotiations, they agreed to add some interest on to the principal amount due to the delay of around 7 days. When I calculated what they should compensate us for, they objected because I had factored in the 2 days of the weekend included in the delay, indicating "we are closed on the weekends." I asked them if they charged interest on loans outstanding over weekends and the man couldn't understand the relevance. This company should be out of business by now. They are incredibly incompetent in so many ways. Judging from what all of the people here have said earlier about problems opening and linking accounts, etc., and their general lack of competence, I am surprised so many of you have stuck with them. As they say, "Buyer Beware."

For what it's worth - just opened a B2B account for the 3.3%. Went smoothly, received the 2 small amounts into my chequing account and was able to link within 2 days.
Much better than having to mail forms and blank cheques as with Motive and some others.
Good so far.
NICE...
They ALL have their quirks... mail-in forms or cheques, etc are others by others. Few have it all together and smooth.
Fortunately for me, this is for money I do not need access frequently, I so I can live with the little nuisances. Of course, it would be nice to know about them upfront. :-\

I don't know if it is easier to make it in french, but I had absolutely no problem.
Pour le moment, j'attends les 48 heures pour que le lien se fasse avec ma banque régulière.
Like you, I hope this 3.3% will last because I am tired to take off the money from a place to another one every few months, to catch the best profit without any risk.

I've tried sporadically over the past three weeks to open a B2B HISA and the Equifax questions are a real problem. I called Equifax and B2B today and couldn't get this resolved. I'm awaiting my report from Equifax and I'll try again, but I'm not hopeful.
The Equifax questions were nothing short of bizarre. Had to select "none of the above" for almost all.
The B2B agent said that the system would lock me out for 72 hours after 3 attempts, so I guess I'm waiting until next week to try again.
What was really funny was the B2B agent who encouraged me to contact them again once I have my Equifax report (as if that would change anything because I confirmed that Equifax did indeed have my correct info). He said that they are "here to help if I'm having issues" and I said well, I *am* having issues and this is why I'm calling!!
So ... not impressed, but the rate is still compelling, as my Manulife promo rate has ended.
Question for the forum: do you folks keep dormant accounts open if there's not much likelihood of getting a good rate again from that institution?

Just to point out again that the questions presented by Equifax are intentionally designed to make sure you know your info so it may often present questions that you clearly know are wrong. Again, this is by design to trick and filter out guessing!
As for keeping open these accounts, I personally have not bothered to close them for one reason; hope of getting future offers. That said, I know some banks make offers only to "new" clients, and some use the criteria as them not having opened an account in a certain amount of time (commonly at least 6 months to a year). So one good reason to close them would be to possibly re-qualify for offers targeted to "new" clients. So far, I have not bothered.

I just tried to open an account, but got 3 Equifax questions wrong. Questions about phone and bank accounts from 15 years ago, but I have had too many.
It says to contact them through the Equifax web site. Is that really what I have to do? How does this work?
This is the message:
"You have answered three (3) or more questions incorrectly and are unable to authenticate your identity. To resolve this, please contact Equifax at consumer.equifax.ca/personal/contact-us.
Once resolved with Equifax, please try this process again."

Same here. I gave up for myself. I tried more than 50 times and received the same error message.

Nobody here confirmed it, but if I understand correctly all the answers I need will be on the free Equifax report, so I went ahead and faxed the application form to them earlier today. It comes snail mail so I guess I have to wait a week to 10 days before finishing the account opening process.
Just tried one more time but no luck received below error message.......

I thought I'd give it a try again just to see if I might have better luck with the questions, but it doesn't seem to remember the credentials I used. Did you have to start all over again or were you able to login with the email & password you used the first time?

Yes and no.... be aware that you may be presented questions with info that does not exist on your Equifax... these questions are specifically designed to make sure that you actually know what belongs to you and what does not. The idea is that if it is not in your Equifax report, it does not apply to you and you are suppose to respond accordingly.
In other words, you may be given a question with some or all of the info not being valid. You are then expected to know this and answer with a "None of the above.." type reply.
Again, this is designed to make sure people know what is part of their record and what is not.

Update: I received my Equifax report via snail mail. Tried another three times to create an account at B2B. No luck and the Equifax questions are still totally bizarre, and I am answering all of them honestly. So I just called B2B again and was told that they can do absolutely nothing about it because Equifax provides the online application tool and screening product, and it's Equifax that is blocking me. Yet when I'd called Equifax, they say that I need to speak with B2B. My spouse is also having the same problem.
I asked if I could go into a Laurentian Bank branch and sign up, and was told that I could not.
I must be a sucker for punishment because I am going to try calling Equifax again.

I guess I was lucky. I failed 3 questions the 1st time, but the 2nd time was easy. All the answers were "None of the above".
I wonder if there is a point where they lock you out from trying if you fail too many times? If not, no harm to keep trying?

After 3 fails, you get locked out from trying again for 72 hours
