If you manage your affairs with Oaken online (the very definition of who Oaken Financial is for almost everyone), why would one NOT also have the ability to download a PDF on to their device.... whatever it is? Perfectly logical for a digital bank, no?

Why does one need to print out a paper copy of a tax slip? I do what I can to avoid paper tax slips. Any that must still come by paper are scanned into PDFs and the paper copies shredded.

I have all our Oaken settings to Online PDF's. I do have access to all the PDF statements and T slips but they insist on sending me T slips, GIC purchase confirmations and reminders of GIC maturities via Canada Post.

Post #97 suggested that Oaken no longer was sending out tax slips by Canada Post but that does not jive with follow up posts.

Some people/companies will say anything to avoid paper. I remember we did a lot of business with a particular company. One Christmas they sent us a "virtual" Christmas card so we sent them a virtual wine/fruit basket. Yes, they got the message.

Yes. The T5 slip PDF from EQ Bank is messed up this year too as it was last year.

Acrobat Reader won't print it. Open the PDF file in a browser, like Microsoft Edge, and print from there.

If you're printing on a desktop or laptop, have a look at the printer dialog box. For some stupid reason, EQB T slips are formated to 23.6x38.9in! Somewhat larger than most home printers and tough to slip into an envelope.

I had never tried printing these before since insist on sending a hard copy. 2024 was also problematic.

Try contacting EQB Tech support ...

I did contact. They insist we need to use Edge! Once logged in with Edge, Preview your T slip then print from there. It actually works. This works for FireFox too but not Chrome. Go figure ...

For the downloaded PDF file, one can right click on the PDF file, select "Open with" in the context menu, and then select "Microsoft Edge".

So, on Feb 9th I requested a simple transfer from the 2026 instalment account to the 2025 instalment account. This request was completed by the CRA on March 3rd (according to My Account). I wonder if this meets their internal metrices for customer satisfaction??!!

NokomisStation, your respond time is already better than mine!

(JA05, 2026) I make a tax installment payment. CRA added the amount to tax year 2025 instead

(FE13, 2026) I requested the amount to be transferred over to tax year 2026

(MR13, 2026) Progress Tracker still shown "Target completion date not available" sf-frown

(MR15, 2026) Looks like I need to make an extra payment to meet this due date sf-yell

My experience is it could be driven by how it's specified by your bank when it's being sent over. It may not be a CRA fault.
Also get on the phone with CRA and they can fix it real time while you are on the phone. Now may not be a bad wait times as it's still "early" in the tax season.

For some of you impatient types you can get your tax information directly from the horse's mouth (or some other animal anatomy possibly). The above link is for Northwest Healthcare Properties REIT which recently changed it's name to Vital Infrastructure Property Trust. Then you can apply the values to the amount of units you hold.

I do not know how common it is for T3 issuers to supply this information on their websites, but go and knock your socks off.

VitalREIT.com is their new homepage.

Any ETFs or REITs that I've owned have provided this tax breakdown. Maybe it's a legal requirement? Even if not, they all supply it. ETFs are usually published as one document for the entire fund family.

I have never tried to calculate my own T3 but have used the % allocations for forecasting purposes.

My experience is T3 tax slips for trusts, e.g. ETFs, mutual funds, REITs, etc. are usually not issued until about the end of March, and include a breakdown of each type of income received.

It is also my experience that income breakdowns for ETFs and REITs come from one's own brokerage on its T3 tax slip while breakdowns for mutual funds, including money market mutual funds have come independently from the mutual fund company.
