Received 3.21% this morning, by email. Pulled out my $'s March 30th when my 2.59% offer was coming to a close, and refused 2%.

Glad I waited for 3.21%

When you say refused, how did you refuse? You must have given them a call then? I ask because I got a promo rate today automatically, there wasn't an option to refuse for me.

Most likely on April 5, 2017.

Is it always every 5th of the month (quarterly that is, so Jan/5th, April/5th, July 5th, October 5th)?

Do I have to do anything to "activate" this rate? Or, is it already applied to the saving account? pcf requires activation of new promo rates, so I wonder about Tangerine.

Just got off live chatting with Tangerine, they confirmed when its a promo rate offered to you, then its automatic and you do NOT have to activate anything.

Just by curiosity, if you got an offer, could you tell the province you are in.

As it seems to be driven by some marketing teams ( ref: https://www.highinterestsavings.ca/forum/tangerine-bank/spring-promo/#p22058 ), I am curious to know if it is global or by province.

Not sure who you were referring to. I'm in Ontario.

I am referring to anybody who got an offer today and who is happy now.

Thanks for the reply moneyhelp. Someone from Ontario received an offer. That's one province.

For the last 2 years it was like that, but new President and CEO Brenda Rideout may change this funny game according to her rules sf-smile

AlainJF, I doubt home province has anything to do with what promo offer we get, but who knows; anyways, since you asked, I got the 3.21% this time around and I'm in Ontario.

Just saw offers on logging in again to the accounts later in the day.
Spouse and I offered 2.44%, QC
My mom was offered 2.81%, QC
No direct emails were sent to us, but my mom did get one.
Not great offers.

AlainJF, I am Albertan...

In the past, there have been up to 9 different promo rates, I believe; I wonder how many this time?

Toto and totos husband are in BC
They didn't offer us the last promotion, I called multiple times to try and get it until a rep finally said it was noted on their system the multiple times that I called and to give up , that I am not going to get it. So was very happy when I got spring promo.
I never accept the 2 percent offer because I can use Eq accounts.

I said 2.38 earlier%, it was actually 2.37%. Province- Saskatchewan.

Good point about CDIC insurance limit. I feel (relatively) safer going over $100K with Tangerine than I would with smaller rivals. (Scotiabank being the owner of Tangerine)
