did u rec email that its ready ?

I just checked and Home Bank is available, Home Trust is not.

Also after u click on the document, there is like a few secs of delay before its downloaded. On Chrome, I clicked and nothing happens. Few seconds later, it pops up under download.

No email yet and I am familiar with Oaken documents/statements. Tax Year 2023 is not listed yet, only 2022. They must do them in groups ...

You're probably right, because I don't have T5s for either either account for us on HT or HB and we've never received emails notifying us.

Same here. Home Bank today. No Home Trust yet.

Although, I didn't receive any Home Trust for 2022 either. I wonder if they're combined ...

For 2022, HB and HT came as 2 separate receipts. Not sure this year.

Home Trust and Home Bank are two separate banks, each has to issue its own slips.

EQ bank just emailed that their T5s should be expected by end of February.

Tells you which one of these FIs was created as truly online bank, and which one has online front end, but last century back end.

I suspect it's not a system issue but rather the lack of willingness to schedule the auto generation of T-Slips before legally required to do so.

I like the content of the EQ Bank email though. Very clear and concise on each of the tax slips and what is included in each tax slip. I do not see why timing of tax slips is relevant though as long as they meet statutory requirements.

There is no need to do anything with them, e.g. download the PDFs, until early March anyway for the first data inputs to tax software, and then again in early April (T3s et al) to finish it off. Two sittings to populate the tax file is enough.

If you believe the T5 deadline requirment date is generous, which I believe it is, then there is no reason why it cant be generated earlier, esp when everything is done by the system these days.

Some may want to the T5 earlier rather than later, just so they can get their tax refund from say RRSP withdrawl, etc. I am not in that camp and wait till end of Apr to file, but there are some that will benefit from an earlier T5.

I prefer to file early and then get refund early. If I owe, $ transfer goes Apr 29.

I understand getting one's RRSP contribution tax refund back a bit earlier is worth a few dollars in interest (investment) income. That said, CRA won't open Netfile until Feb 19th anyway.
