There is currently 2 offer on the WFCU rates page. I believe these are extended to Omnia Direct client as well because it is also advertised on my Feb monthly statement.

Qualifying Period - March 2, 2026 and April 30, 2026

4.29% 4-Month High-Interest Savings Account Special

4.60% 6-Month High-Interest Savings Account Special

Note that the T&C are different from each other.

To get the 4.60% rate, you must also:

- Open (or add to) a daily EVA banking account
- Set up recurring direct deposit (like payroll or pension)
- The deposit must be at least $1,000/month

They check this 45 days after opening.
If the requirements aren’t met, the promo is cancelled and the rate drops to 0.50%.

Yes - but agent advised there will be a service fee if/when you want to transfer the funds back to where it came from.

I believe the service fee was not charged if one was of a "certain age". Perhaps you might want to check with WFCU to be sure.

Service fees:
https://mywfcu.ca/online-polic.....ervicefees

With a savings account, 1 transfer out/month is free, $2.50 thereafter. All transfers are free if 59+.
With EVA chequing account, all transfers are $1.50, unless you have a Gold / Diamond or Platinum account.
See account fees here (scroll down): https://mywfcu.ca/personal/per.....-accounts/

Note that to qualify for this promo, you need one type of savings account + one type of EVA chequing account.

Note that to open a chequing account or a registered savings account requires an in-person visit to a branch. See locations here: https://www.wfcu.ca/Personal/T.....BranchATM/

BTW, you cannot deposit funds directly into the HISA of choice. You have to transfer funds to a holding account, either chequing or savings (not the promo account) then call in and have the funds moved manually to the HISA.

And as per the fine print, "For clarity, a Member can open 1 ALTO Savings Account, 1 RRSP, 1 TFSA and 1 FHSA and receive the Offer rate in all the accounts; however, a Member is not eligible to open more than 1 of the same Eligible Savings Account and receive the Offer rate."

Please keep in mind that there are limitations to how Omnia/WFCU operate. Read this thread for clarity: https://www.highinterestsaving.....t-and-fees

As per the promotion, you DO need a savings account. You only need a chequing account as one means of moving money in and out. The savings account is what gets the promotional rate. The chequing account is what is needed to move funds out.

If you are onboarding as an Omnia client, better think of the special HISA as a 120D open term. However, the offer is not seen advertised on the Omnia website.

smayer9 got most of the details

Following from me

  • It is an internal landing account that buffers between the special HISA and the external funding account.
  • It is PAD from an external chequeing account, not a me-to-me transaction. However, you banking info is on file for internal use.
  • Omnia client don't actually pay the $5 fee to join. In my case, I was credited the $5 on file, and to be deducted when I leave Omnia.
  • A web interface is provided for overview & monthly statements. T5 s are not downloadable. It is mailed the old school way.

Hope this helps

HWYC:

Thanks for this. Signed up with them again today for 4 months @4.29%. They pulled my $$ for me from Meridian in 1 day. I was getting 4.70% so not bad. Thanks again.

@Peter, not sure why this is not on the Promotion page. Please add. Offer is available until Apr 30, 2026 (can be revoked without notice).

These offers are registered account eligible (TFSA, RRSP, FHSA).

To be sure, though this is not strictly an Ontario only offer, if you want the registered accounts option, you need to come in person for physical signature. Nothing else is acceptable.

Can you add a link, or eligibility details for Ontario non-residents?

So special eligibility for outside Ontario. Just limitations for physical signatures for some products, e.g. chequing account, registered account.

Start here for details about the offer: https://mywfcu.ca/personal/inv.....t-special/

See here for fine print: https://mywfcu.ca/FinePrint/

Call them for specifics.
