I just tried opening an HISA , and it failed. I phoned LBC, surprisingly zero wait time on phone, and they said they are updating the system till about midnight, and I should try again tomorrow.
I was able to open an HISA to-day Sunday although it did take 2 attempts.
BTW: Don't know about LBC but I was told by B2B that the 3.3% applies only to the first million dollars. So, there might be a cap at LBC as well.

Certainly wont park $1MM cash there even if I have that kind of cash...
On the other note, debate if worth it to open an account with a different email just to increase CDIC from $100k to $200k since already have a B2B account.

For those who already has B2B and tried to open a LBC digital past week and experience issues (Same email address etc), chances are your application did go through. I just received a call from LBC digital telling me my account has been opened etc. I said "really, I tried using same email and didn't work." They just ended up setting up the "new" account number that is already opened with my other email address. So you may just have a new ghost account number at LBC that you are not aware of (esp if you already have B2B). May want to call in to clarify if that special situation applies to you.

That's sort of what happened to me -- I thought my LBC application had failed, but then I got a welcome email from them. However, the LBC system wouldn't let me sign in because I had used the same email addy to open my B2B account. So I called in expecting them to tell me that I'd have to start all over again, but back office tech support was able to simply change the new LBC account to a different email user ID.
That results in receiving a second welcome message in your alternative email -- you then have to call in one more time so they can reset your account with a temporary password. Once I was in, I just changed my password back to what I had chosen in the first place and I was off to the races. I'm now in the midst of setting up my external links which can only be added one at a time

To avoid having a "ghost" account, I used a different email address for LBC Digital.

I suppose that manulife did not announce anything about extending their promo... (?)
No new news. When I joined the promotion the rate was 3.25% and it has since declined to the current 2.95%. Also, there is some confusion about the cap. I thought it was $500,000 but it appears that it was decreased to $100,000 mid-stream.

Edit- I called them, and they said I was set up with an account, even though it kept saying my application had failed and to call in, but my account was not yet linked to an online setup, so they would phone me back once they got tech support to link them.
Exactly the same thing happened to me... and I did not receive any call back yet... Did they call you back and fix the missing link ?

I just kept calling back each day, first call on Saturday, then on Monday, then on Tuesday. When I called on Tuesday the customer service rep was able to give me a temporary password to set up the online access.
FYI, I don't think you can etransfer yet. When I went to etransfer from Scotiabank there was no LBC Digital on the list, just B2B and Laurentian. So as far as I know, initial deposit will have to take place after you link your account. You should have already got an email that your account is valid, and once you get online access you can start the linking process. I added an account to link yesterday, and microdeposits still aren't in Scotiabank to finalize the linkup.

Thanks for the information. I suppose that it will end up working for me as well sometimes in the future. I'll keep calling.
BTW, is there anybody on this forum for who the on-line LBC digital registration process worked properly?
