In their words, "the first direct investing brokerage owned by one of Canada's five largest banks to eliminate commissions on stock and ETF trades".
That's the Wealthsimple effect. Now they join National Bank Direct Brokerage, Qtrade, Questrade, TD Easy Trade (not TD Direct Investing), and Wealthsimple.

OfflineI think it is even better than just zero stock and ETF trading commissions. All account fees have been dropped too. No minimum balances needed, no transfer out fees, etc. There are some remaining 'service' fees but they are entirely reasonable.
The change is good though it makes no difference to me. I have yet to incur a brokerage charge of any kind at BMO IL this year.
