I find it very useful to check current gas prices near me
The prices often go down a fair bit during the day

I have found that between 10pm and 12am is the cheapest.

This CTV article & vid suggests 'After' 6pm ⬇️

.
Living out here in The Sticks of S.E. BC, I haven't noticed any such changes during the day.

Any other suggestions❓

Another triumph for regulation-- (referring to the comment in the article re Atlantic Canada)
Here in London,, my experience is that they tend to drop throughout the day, and in particular by 4pm
And continuing to drop through the evening hours
Driving profits through high margin sales in the store would clearly work for them-- but, for myself, I can't remember the last time I actually went inside the store to pay.

Run your tank closer to empty and then take a drive to Eureka. Might as well grab a six-pack while you're at it.

I've been using GasBuddy for some 15 years now. It's always been useful, but it's most significant limitation is the users themselves. The move over time to an almost purely mobile app has not been without issue and has diminished the value of the site/service for some (myself included). I'd even say that the ability to report in a mobile app has increased sloppy price reports. However, overall the site/app has been a net positive for me.

Fuel prices rarely fluctuate during the day in our area, except for the odd station attempting to push prices up (there are two usual offenders). So to hear that other parts of the country see this is interesting. Reminds me of various parts of Europe where constant fluctuations of the price during the day is the norm.

If Gas Buddy provides a free service, how do they make money to fund their operation and put food on the table??
