I just realized Total Daily Balance also included the Investment Account(s) Balance.

These offers make more sense under "Wealth" only found on their app. I think the objective is to attract and reward clients who not only put money in their banking side

Update re: tiered rates:
My current promo of 4.2% ends on Mar 31 and I just found an em from Tang sent Mar 20 with the following offer starting Apr 1 for 6 months:
Total Daily Balance Interest Rate*
$0-$49,999 2.75%
$50,000-$99,999 3.00%
$100,000-$499,999 3.25%
$500,000+ 3.50%
Seems to be same fine print as you all have been talking about and it applies automatically Apr 1 (no opt-in required).
There was no notice about it in my inbox on the Tang site, nor does it show up anywhere when I log in to my account.

3.25% is significantly more than I received last year (2%) - for 100K ... but is it good enough? There are a few offers out there with a 4% handle.

Once the offer kicks in April 1, the tiered rates offer will show up in an Insight. The applicable Tiered Savings Rate, depending on one's total daily balance, will then be the "Current Interest Rate" under "Account Detalls" of the savings account.
The tiered rates offers don't seem to be done the same way as previous targeted Tangerine offers.
