.
With no recent Tang offers for me, my Total Balance with them = $1.14 ,
with a 'Microscopic' rate of interest. sf-wink

I'm thinking of opening a SA with CT Bank, but I hear the process is a
*&^%$# sf-confused ... unless it's been recently improved. No ❓

My Tangerine promotion ends June 30th. I removed ALL my funds this month including interest. No extension date. I do not get much extra since the rate is a combination of OLD money with NEW money. I have another promotion until the end of August. It is not really worth the trouble.

Have a Great Day

I pulled my hisa funds from tangerine a few months ago BUT I still go through the process of calling them at the beginning of each month, just to hear their current offer. For June, i was offered 1%.

I said, NO.

I opened account with Canadian Tire Bank this April, and linked it with Tangerine. As long as you are a patient man who can tolerate speed of snail mail, and have checkbook with Tangerine - the process is simple and straightforward.

Thanks for that , Alexandre.

It's sad to hear that CTB is still back in the Dark Ages. sf-confused

I have 'No Tolerance' for HickBilly operations, so I think I'll Pass.

I think you just like to hear their pleasant human voices 😉

I do not know not one client who got good 'retention' rate calling Tang. Waste of time... Just wait for random 'great rate' offer. You might get lucky...

Think of it as a Tang 'Lottery'. Sometimes you Win ... but Most times you Lose.

I haven't won for a while, but my Wife did on the last one ❗ sf-smile

My Tangerine promo also ends on June 30. No offer of extension or another promo. I opened a new savings account with Motus at 2.25% for 90 days. And so it goes ...

I'm likely transferring it all to Neo Savings (currently open and empty), at 1.3%, unless I find a better savings account rate that I can actually get.

For the Motusbank promo, I've had a savings account (and TFSA, chequing) there, literally since they came into existence, so nothing for me, obviously. I heard about a Manulife promo, but it said I wasn't eligible to open the account when I went through the special link, I guess because I'm an existing account holder with them (inactive for a very long time, though). I tried Saven Financial, but after many attempts they continue to reject my personal information at the first step, without any other option to move forward, so that's out, for now. I submitted an application for Canadian Tire savings account exactly 3 weeks ago, with only the confirmation email I received right away, and nothing in the mail yet. Are there any other promos available, at higher than 1.3%? For now, that's the best I've got starting in July when my 1.75% with Tangerine expires.

Saven Financial is still offering 1.55%. However, not guaranteed to last, and they don't offer joint accounts. May be Ontario-only. I have no experience with them.

Check out Manulife again. I had account there and closed it few months ago. Went thru the process of opening new account again and qualified.
Also people reported on the Manulife forum that those with an existing account also qualify. You just have to open another account, as they wont apply the promo to your existing account. Apparently Manulife is ok with you holding multiple advantage account. Weird but it is what it is. Good luck

I recommend that you call them immediately. There is a lot that can be accomplished by telephone instead of waiting for their snail mail. Please see my two posts #8 and #9 for my experience with Canadian Tire. Good Luck!

My promotion of 1.75% end in June 30. I called Tangerine in June 24 to schedule transfer out substantial amount in CAD & USD in June 30. The rep. offer 1% for 150 days. I declined. The rep. asked if it's ok that someone can call me if they find a better promotion rate for me. Someone did called on Monday and offer 1.25% for 150 days up to $3.5M in CAD & USD. I accepted.

Well done. That's a pretty darn good rate for USD and excellent ceiling.

I did something similar at the sunset of a promotional offer and called to arrange movement of significant funds elsewhere, but received no offer or follow-up call. 🙁

I went same route and got similar result. My cap is 1MM tho which is more than I have or willing to deposit there anyway 🙂

They now go the "marketing / retention" dept model similar to the dreaded telecom co.

I called on Jun28 and declined 1%. their market dept called Jun29. Promo added to acct this mrng when I checked. They told me 1MM over the phone, but promo detail says 3.5mm. Makes no diff to me either way.

It is not a 'promotion'. It is 'retention rate' as I understand from above posts. It is not worth to call and 'negotiate' as you can currently get 1.25% on HISA at few other FIs.
