I was just offered 2.75% between June 10, 2026 and February 28, 2027 -- not quite 9 months, but their headline is calling it "up to 9 months"

Hopefully, it's not "up to 2.75%" ...

I understand that generally speaking one can get an offer even if they have only a few cents in their account. That was not my point, though. Has anyone else received an offer for 3.40% or more in the last few days? In this thread people are talking about 2.5%, 2.75% ... arguably that is significantly less than my offer.
Maybe I have received a higher offer because I had a significant amount in my account on June 1st.

No, it seems you are a special case. At one time in years past Simplii would target clients with another promo offer a few days into the following month after their previous promo ended. Of course they would backdate it to the 1st of the month, even though you only got the email days later. The eligible funds would have been as described in your post. Bottom line - better luck next time.

I declined their 2.5% piddly offer as I am currently getting 4.25% at Tangerine until August 31st. By declining the offer as others have done, I am hoping that Simplii will come back with an improved offer of at least 3.0% expiring September 30th or later.

"I declined their 2.5% piddly offer"
Wonder if anyone accepted their 2.5% offer? If Simplii get no takers maybe they'll get the message.

Simplii must be getting desparate. Just got the following.

"Sign up now and earn 2.50% interest† until September 30, 2026 with your High Interest Savings Account. Only on eligible deposits up to $1,000,000. Terms apply."

No, they think their clients are naive and gullible. It's like they're throwing table scraps to stray dogs to see if they'll happily accept and wag their tails. Failing that, they'll maybe add some gravy to the mix, ie, up the rate a smidgen and try again.

"They" don't seem to know that asute investors like us share information among ourselves.

Reminds me of the Gordie Howe story. When Bobby Baun joined the Red Wings,

Bobby: Hey Gordie, how much are the Red Wings paying you?
Gordie: Don't tell anybody but I'm the highest paid player on the team.
Bobby: Oh, so you're making over $100,000 a year.

" Gordie Howe discovered that teammate Bobby Baun was making over $100,000 per season, while Howe was paid only $45,000 per season. After getting this information, Howe confronted management and demanded that he received the appropriate compensation. Howe was always under the impression that he was the highest paid player on the team. 1969"

2.5% beats all but 4 institutions on the HISA chart here, so not too bad for those with no other promo offers.

Better. Still could be more though. Did you turn down a previous lower offer?

Nope. It's the first offer I got from Simplii since the term of the previous one expired at the end of April.
