The Oaken digitalbanking.oaken.com/ was down all morning.
They seem to have more than their fair share of IT issues, or am I being unfair?

Here’s what I have heard:

Allegedly:

1. Reports of numerous errors for mandatory RRIF payments.

2. Reports that mandatory RRIF payments have been taken from too many GICS.

3. Reports that RRIF GIC’s have been paid out (closed out) without paying accrued interest.

If I had RRIFs there, that have been paid this year…. I’d being checking.

One has to remember to keep an account open to receive "orphaned" interest payment when an account is closed. For example, If I pulled a load of cash out of a TF-GIC, the interest that money had already earned when the bulk was pulled would appear on the NEXT month's satement. That would have to be kept in a tax-free instrument.

In January, I did the year-end maneuver with about $25K that had been in a cashable term to get to the end of the year. An additional $75 or so then appeared, but the financial institution was willing to time it so that the final entry withdrawal could include the interest. I paid no withdrawal fee, which would have exceeded all the interest the TF-GIC had earned.

I remember someone on one of the fora saying they'd missed a final interest payement by closing their accounts too soon. I'm surprised banking regs permitted this. Anyone remember where the details were?

I had an external link done on Friday and it was supposed to be linked within 2 business days. However, as of today (Wednesday), it still hasn't been linked. I contacted customer service, but they couldn't locate the transaction that was completed on Friday, even though I had downloaded the PDF as proof of its success. I attempted to set up the link three more times (twice using Chrome and once using Edge), but it failed each time. I called Oaken again, and they will issue a ticket to their IT department.

Right now....I would cease transfers in or out of Oaken until they fix up what they are not telling us about. I've had money disappear within Oaken.

.
Sorry, but I don't get it . . .

I've never had a problem with Oaken ... either with their site, or EFTs.

Even just in the last three days, I've made four EFTs (3 Pulls & 1 Push) ... All went 'Smoooth As Butter'.

What am I missing❓

How did money "disappear"? both Home Trust and Home Bank are CDIC insured so you are good to $200K and the 2.8% standard savings rate is the best out there among the institutions I use.

Post 3 Here’s what I have heard:
Allegedly:.......

How does that become....."I've had money disappear within Oaken"

Listening to some rumours your babysitter (or such) told you to claiming that you have personally had money "disappear" at Oaken is not the same thing.

Thanks ... that's all Very Concerning❗

But what's the 'Source' of that information, and can it be confirmed❓

Yes. The terms of the offer required the account to be still open when the bonus interest is paid: RBC Does not pay accrued bonus interest if you close your account

IT issues continuing.
I have been trying to access my online accounts since Sunday. Site was completly down on Monday for at least part of the day. Have called numerous times to try and resolve login issues but each time am told someone will call back. It is now Thursday sf-frown
Today was told IT will look at issue within 2-3 days! and they did admit to having 'issues' this week.
Am losing faith in Oaken. I was about to transfer large amount into Oaken account from an expiring 'offer' but now having second thoughts.

I logged on about an hour ago....no issues. No transactions....just viewing.

You must be getting preferential treatment in AB sf-laugh
Call every day and just the same response, "IT can take 2-3 days to look into an issue"
Nowhere near acceptable!
