After speaking with a CSR about adding the new Advantage account to our existing profile, it seems you must start from scratch, like a new client. online only, and have to provide photo id all over again, new id, new pw, etc etc... so I assume this means NEW Profiles for myself and my wife [to make it a joint account] ?If so, this promo is definitely not for us, as I want to be able to transfer seamlessly to our existing, Advantage Acct., and use the existing link to home bank, and be able to use existing cheques, for moving out large amounts quickly later on.
I don't think any of this is possible, but if anyone knows different, I'd appreciate your input. thanks.
I opened a new account earlier this wk and didn't have to do much. I had an existing account that I had not used for several yrs (that had gone dormant), but I didn't have to complete or supply any documentation. When I log in now, both accounts are there, so I assume it's all the original profile.
Might be worthwhile to call for more clarification? The balance of the new promo account doesn't have to remain static, so it would seem logical to be able to get a new account for the 3% and still use your other one as you're used to, moving $ between the two as needed.

No, there must be some confusion here. If you already have profiles set up at Manulife, you do not need to start from scratch with ID, etc. to open a new account with the new promo and request new blank cheques. You can't use your old Advantage Account or old blank cheques. You should be able to apply to open the new joint account either from Manulife's home page or from your account after log in.

OfflineAs GR described, one can open a new Advantage account under one's existing profile.
In Step 1 of the account opening journey, you are asked if you have a Manulife ID already. If you answer yes, then you will be asked to sign in and the new Advantage account will be added to your existing Manulife Bank profile.
When moving funds in, don't deposit into an older account first. Transfers from another Manulife Bank account to the new Advantage account won't count as new money.
You'll need to call in if you wish to add the new account to your client card to do ATM deposits directly into the new account.
