Anyone notice that Manulife dropped the interest rate by 0.05% to 2.55%?
Not sure when it happened but I noticed this about 2 weeks ago.

Confused.... currently paying 0.250% which doesn't count for anything here. Caused me to log in to my dormant since Oct 2019 account though. 
The main accomplishment of almost all organized protests is to
annoy people who are not in them.

I checked my Manulife account and the rate is 2.55% now (0.25% + 2.3% promotional rate).

This is for a promo that ran in June, not a new promo ...
5 months at promo rate (there may have been another very similar parallel one too), for those that took advantage of it. But it seems Manulife has been tweaking the rate for those plans. Mine is currently at 0.25% + 2.30%, down from 0.30%, in other words, the BASE changed by 0.05%.

There were two different programs -- one began at 2.60% with a 150-day expiry whereas the second was a 2.75% promo that expires after 4 months

It was .30% + 2.45% promo = 2.75% when I first opened it.
Capped at $100K as well.
Was just lucky I guess. My Tangerine promo was ending so was searching for somewhere else to park.

I signed up for 2.60%. Now its 2.55% until October 15th.

That's the one I went with as well. It was at a lower rate but had an extra month of term, and it also had a higher deposit cap of $250K. Mine runs until Oct 19.
IIRC the 2.75% deal was initially capped at $100K. The cap was later lowered to $50K, but only for deposits made after the change, so if you were already in, at least you didn't get screwed

As of this morning it appears that Manulife's base rate for Advantage accounts has dropped another 5 bps to 0.20%, so the effective promo rates have been reduced to 2.65% and 2.50% respectively
