Thanks. I don't know why I couldn't find that page before, but my vision is poor today. (It varies.)
All I can say is that the Tangerine document does not contain this language. It does have limitations, so as not to include tires and some other things, but I have found these to be standard in rental documents anyway. I was told that they are the responsibility of the car owner (rental agency), not the renters. On the one occasion when this came up in real life, it proved to be true, We had a problem with a tire, and a local franchise owner of the rental company simply came and replaced it. I no longer remember the details.
