I have 3 prepaid cell phone plans and I pay “zero” for them as they give me various bill credits. One of the bill credits comes from a credit card that I have on the accounts. It’s a prepaid MasterCard that was a gift. It has an expiry date and I know, to replace it, the cost is approx $30. I prefer to not put a regular credit card on the accounts.

So I see that both EQ and Wealthsimple have a totally free option.
The only use I would have for a prepaid card would be for the 3 mobile accounts.

I don’t want to burden either 2, loose the money or account due to lack of activity.

Any suggestion, pros or cons?

Thanks.D232233F-E1D5-4124-B196-869CBCE18FC6.jpeg17A7FF20-CCB2-4E4C-B4ED-FF9000E6DD6C.png

Interesting. They manage to misspell their own name as "Wealthsimle Trade" to get that what-is-this-a-fake look.

Phooey.....not feeling very good.
Did I post something with a typo or is the pic for Wealthsimple a fake?

Pewter: The typo was in the graphic, not in any words you entered. I wonder if you got that by navigating to the wealthsimple site or elsewhere? The graphic shows "savvynewcanadians.com" just above the EQ card item, and you may have found it there. That site looks a lot like an affiliate-marketing infosource. Still, the error might have originated with wealthsimple. Not a good look in a market full of clients on the lookout for grifters.

It's always a good idea to check anything you find with a known source. Even here at CISA, Peter always encourages us to check anything we see, as a lot of stuff comes from a wide variety of sources.

A brief search on line for the graphic at wealthsimple.com (never been to their site before) didn't turn it up. Someone more familiar may have find and verify it.
