The way I understand reading on ontario.ca, expiration of your licence plate sticker (car) has been extended until further notice.
Does it mean we (Ontario) do not have to renew it when it is due? I know health card renewal has been extended...

Do you get charged 'shipping & handling' if you renew your license plate sticker on-line to be delivered to your home or you pay (by credit card) only $120/year and that's it?

For now, one doesn't have to renew them if they expire March 1 or later.

According to Ontario.ca: Extended validation periods for driver, vehicle and carrier products and services, the Ontario is "extending the validity of government driver, vehicle and carrier products and services that expired on or after March 1, 2020. These will continue to remain valid and legal past the expiry until further notice. …"

No additional delivery charges for online renewals according to Ontario: Renew a licence plate sticker.

I'm doing that for many years, very quick and convenient service, sticker usually delivered within a week and absolutely no additional 'shipping & handling' charges.

Every 10 years I must go to that terrible MTO office to update my DL and Health Card photos. I hate that experience and would never go there to just renew a sticker, which can be happily done online.

I bought a new vehicle last year. My sticker is good for 2 years. My old vehicle sticker expired in 2020. I got money back for my plates plus unused months of use.
Several years ago I did not get a notice that my drivers licence expired in May. I was happy driving around in the summer. In September I was stopped about 35 km from home by a police officer. My licence had expired 92-93 days earlier in May. Not sure what the fine was. They ticket you if you are driving over 90 days on an expired licence. I had to take a cab home that night as well. I think a friend drove me to pick up my automobile the next day after getting my temporary licence. I was upset. I put a reminder so it would not happen again. I renewed my health card before the unique situation occurred in Feb 2020. I got the notice for drivers licence in February. I can wait until April or May. Service Ontario is busy ALL the time whether you go at 9:00AM or 4:00PM. I need to get a photo for drivers licence this month. It will be a zoo when it finally reopens.

Correction 90 days after May 3rd is August not September. I was 91 days past expiry date. It probably happened in August 2010 since a DL renews every 5 years. The policeman took my expired DL. I had to leave my car at a gasoline station overnight. I know I took a cab late at night 11:30PM. I dropped off my passenger. I continued home. Not sure of the details of getting a new DL the following day. I think a friend drove me to where I left my car.

On the other hand, some months ago a family member received a parking ticket from Toronto, he doesn't live near Toronto and was actually working in another country on that date! Ticket has his licence plate #, obviously an error, no description of vehicle. He's been ignoring it (he's rarely home), he tells me the latest notice has increased the amount due.

Was it an official City of Toronto ticket or just one from a private parking lot ?

If it is the latter, don't worry about it.
