How safe is inputting your data into this website (veritaconnect.ca)?
Why do they ask for your birthdate?

OfflineYes.
The 2018 Loblaw Card Program is counted as an advance of the recent settlement:
LEGAL NOTICE OF COURT APPROVAL OF THE LOBLAW/WESTON
PACKAGED BREAD CLASS ACTIONS SETTLEMENTA nationwide class settlement of claims against Loblaw/Weston by persons resident in Canada who purchased Packaged Bread between January 1, 2001 and December 31, 2021, has been approved by the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Québec.
A $500 million settlement with Loblaw/Weston, including $96 million already advanced through the Loblaw Card Program, has been approved by the Courts and allocated 78% to the Ontario Action and 22% to the Quebec Action.
…
The settlement FAQ has this question:
Can I claim compensation under the settlement if I participated in the Loblaw Card Program?
Yes, you can submit a Claim for compensation under the settlement even if you participated in the Loblaw Card Program. You will, however, only be entitled to the amount by which the additional settlement compensation exceeds the $25 Loblaw Card benefit previously received and only if that additional settlement compensation amount is $5 or more.

As long as they do not ask for SIN or driver's license number or similar VERY personal data it is safe to apply.
eTransfer goes to email (pick any you like and use) and then you will deposit it into bank of your liking.
But what is stopping dishonest people to apply multiple times using different emails and fake addresses???? Do you think ANYBODY will verify data you input there?

I think that they only allow 1 claim per email, a few per phone number and address, because a few people can live there.
If more than 2 claims per single address, they will call or write a letter.
Regarding birth-date - do not provide real, it is simple.

OfflineThe claims won't be paid just based on the infomation submitted.
If a claim looks suspicious, the administrator can request ID or other confirmation that the applicant is a real person, like what was done by the earlier Loblaw Card Program.
I received the gift card from the 2018 Loblaw Card Program without a request for further information. In contrast, a friend received a letter requesting further confirmation of identity.

On the current application I wonder how many people will lie and say they didn't get the 2018 settlement.
They may try that, and, indeed, that may be one of the criteria the administrator of this settlement uses in determining whether to request additional ID, but so doing would only be foolish as the administrator has access to prior settlements awarded. Now, if someone received a Loblaw Gift Card but hadn't spent it yet, they could potentially have the former Gift Card balance and added onto this settlement, but they won't be paying people twice until all those who apply and didn't receive a prior Gift Card have been paid. What's left over will then be paid as a supplemental settlement award to those who received prior gift cards.
I still have my Loblaw Gift Card, but haven't spent it yet, as I'm waiting until the date by which it can be converted to cash.
I did apply for this supplemental payment, and disclosed my prior Gift Card award accurately.
Cheers,
Doug

NO WAY I will provide ANY personal info more than claim form requires. I am not giving those rich slobs my personal ID for exchange for few bucks.
If they want to pay based on my claim form - file; if they do not want - fine again.

OfflineOnly for research reason I have decided on the current application to say, that I did not received the gift card from the 2018 Loblaw Card Program.
I did received my $25 Loblaw Gift Card and spent it almost immediately long time ago.
I will post here any communications, that they will send me and/or any payment in 2026, if applicable.
I will not provide to them any ID.
If they will request further confirmation of identity by other means, I will post here what exactly they want and will decide at that time to proceed or not.

So you're going to not tell the truth. And then not tell the truth about why you're not telling the truth ("research" only, eh?). For $25?
You are mistaken. It is not for $25 at all.
It is only for research to see, if they will actually check their records from 2018.
If yes, will they request further confirmation of identity or simply deny my misrepresented claim.
