Received email with subject "Canadian Auto Parts Price-Fixing Class Action - File Claim" today!

Then I found this CBC news article ... businesses and consumers who bought or leased new vehicles sold between July 1, 1998, and Sept. 30, 2016, are eligible to receive $25 per claim in compensation for the following brands:

Aston Martin.
BMW/Mini Cooper.
Chrysler/Dodge/Fiat/Jeep/Ram.
Ford/Lincoln/Mercury.
General Motors (Buick/Cadillac/Chevrolet/Daewoo/GMC/Hummer/Isuzu/Oldsmobile/Pontiac/Saab/Saturn).
Honda/Acura.
Jaguar/Land Rover.
Mazda.
Nissan/Infiniti.
Subaru.
Toyota/Lexus.
Volkswagen/Audi/Porsche and Volvo.

If one didn't received an email with an assigned claim ID (& PIN), one can still file a claim here

Hope this helps.

Wait a bit before filing a claim without the claim ID. According to the CBC (London) article, the e-mails and letters with claim ID and password are still being sent out:

According to the settlement website, anyone who bought a new car must rely on customer information provided by the automakers as proof of purchase. Anyone eligible will be notified by email or letter between June 28 and July 12 with a user ID and password to access their information.

According to the settlement site's FAQ, one will need to file again if one filed a claim before the claim ID and PIN arrived:

13. WHAT IF I FILED A CLAIM BEFORE I RECEIVED A CLAIM ID AND PIN?

If you received notice with login information, it is because you filed a claim in the first distribution and/or you were identified in the customer records provided by the Automakers. Using this login information when filing a claim will allow your claim to be prepopulated with your purchase information and will reduce the time required to process your claim.

If you have filed a claim and subsequently receive notice with login information, please complete a second claim using the Claim ID and PIN received. Only your second claim will be considered for compensation.

Is it REALLY worth providing all personal info just to get $25?
All other 'class action suits' did not require so many personal info and did paid settlement.

How about for older cars? I have been moved couple times since 1998. How can the Automakers know my current address?

Only a few days left until the October 30, 2023 deadline.

Automakers keep contact info for sending out any recall notices. However, they won't know one's current address if one does not notify them after moving.
