WealthOne Bank 1 yr and 2 yr GICs up to 6%
Up from 5.98% from the last check but still one of the few FIs left with 6% GICs

Nice rates , of course ... But I wouldn't touch W1BoC with a 10' pole ❗

They can keep 'em sf-confused

I note today some of the GIC brokers are now selling 1 year @ 6.17 and 6.18.
Would not be surprised if these are also WealthOne Bank.

Today a 2 yr. GIC at Scrivens Broker Ottawa is 6.14% with Windsor Family Credit Union.

The 6.17/6.18% might be Credit Union Atlantic and East Coast Credit Union, respectively, at $25,000 minimums (take 10bps off those rates for $10,000 minimums).

Interestingly, it looks like Wealthsimple may be offering higher rates (and at $1000 minimums) to their direct customers than to the GIC broker channel.

I see the 18-month term is also 6% which is good. Anyone knows if there's an email to go for rate update reminder? I think the 18-month rate for both this bank and Tangerine are incorrect.
