Here is an explanation of the closing of the Markham branch. Apparently it occurred April 2021 and may have been covid related.
It appears, although not completely clear, that the office at Sheppard and Yonge in Toronto has retail services.

I believe they have in person services by appointment only.

Where do you enter the promo code to get the higher rate?

Looks like the 2.88% offer is extended 2 days. Until Oct 22 now. Can anyone confirm this?

I phoned WealthOne and was told that the account will be automatically linked to the external account on which you wrote the deposit cheque.
The outlet at Yonge and Sheppard is currently closed and they are all working from home as a covid precaution.
I apologize if this was reported earlier but didn't have time to check.

I'm new to Wealth One. Here's what I've learned in the past two weeks.

1) No chequing account.
2) No debit card.
3) No ATM access.

I was advised to transfer funds back and forth using the link.

Question: How efficient is the link? Same day, one day, two days, more?

I only have a savings account and GIC's with Wealth One. But when I go on line I see you can order personalized cheques from them.

One or two days and the money is moved! I do all of my moves using another Bank, I can’t remember the last time I moved money using the W1 platform, but I have used it to move money as well. I have never felt like I had to wait too long!

EDIT: That’s one or two business days, so keep the weekend and stat. holdays in mind!

I am a new HISA client with them and only need to move smaller amount of money most of the times, so I just use the Interact E transfer and it works well like my TD and CIBC ones, you receive money in 30 minutes or an hour.

jloura: Interac (not interact!) E-transfers are usually quite expensive. Do you pay a fee? If not, how do you avoid it?

Some banks do not charge fees for Interac etransfers. I do not get charged by CIBC when sending them.

I don’t use the interac at WealthONE, but is apparently $1.50 to send.
