Is it easier to get a tfsa for stocks at BMO than at TD. Seems to be a hassle at TD. thnx

If you mean a DIY discount brokerage TFSA in which you can purchase stocks, I don't think it matters much which company you go with. They all operate in a similar manner. What makes it a hassle at TD DI (if that is what you mean)?

I opened my TD WebBroker TFSA account a few years ago. From what I can remember, it was a 'Cake Walk'. Mind you, I already had two other accounts with them.

So Jamesg ... what kind of hassle(s) are you experiencing ?

If you already have a big 5 bank account just open it with their discount broker, easiest and quickest. Otherwise be prepared to also open an account at the bank connected to whichever discount broker you choose, even if not mandatory it probably would facilitate what you're doing.
