Unlock a better rate, automatically.
We keep it simple—no need to opt in to earn your exclusive Savings rate, and you’ll know the rate tiers up front.
Total Daily Balance Interest Rate*‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌
$0-$49,999 2.00%
$50,000-$99,999 2.50%
$100,000-$499,999 2.75%
$500,000+ 3.00%

How it works:
Start earning on March 1, 2026
We’ll calculate your total balances across all your eligible Savings, Chequing, and Investment Accounts and apply your tiered rate automatically to your existing eligible registered and non-registered Savings Account(s) on a daily basis until August 31, 2026.
Take it up a level
Get an even higher Savings rate when your Total Daily Balance moves up a tier. Your full Savings balance will earn that tier's rate.

My current promo with Tangerine expires on the 28th. I guess this is enough for me to keep it there for now, even though I won't be in the top tier for the 3%

My $100,000+ tier with Tangerine is 2.00% till end of 2026. Obviously, I've moved my funds elsewhere. I am guessing, other people with similar offer did the same. Which forced Tangerine up their promo.
If I was offered $100,000-$499,999 at 2.75% I would have kept money with Tangerine. Instead, my money collects 2.75% interest at EQ.

I went on Tiered rates mid Dec. My spouse's 3.50% promo ends Feb 28 and it looks like Tiered rates thereafter. As of today we have $1 in each TNG account with all HISA funds at 2.75-2.80% between EQB and OAK.

My RIF redemptions are presently mis-coded so that I'm having to use an EQB Individual Notice Account to get 2.75%. I would prefer using a Joint Personal Account to get 2.75%. My financial advisor is well aware that my entire TFSA could be at stake ...

I guess T doesn't like me or maybe doesn't like my money:

Earn a Savings rate based on your Total Daily Balance*
$0 to $49,999 | 0.35%
$50,000 to $99,999 | 0.75%
$100,000 to $499,999 | 1.75%
$500,000 and above | 2.25%

These forums used to get lots of messages re promotional offers and many more about complaints re the apparent lottery nature of these offers.

Now we're seeing messages about about promotional offers disappearing and being replaced with tiered rates and many more about the inadequate rates in these Tiers even for those with more $500k @ TNG.

Oh well, we'll never be happy with TNG ...

They are essentially blocking you out of the promotion lottery. Time to kill that relationship.

I have had accounts at Tang since it was ING and you used ATMs situated in Canadian Tire stores - late 80's I think. I have only a couple of dollars at Tang now for old times sake.

I just leave $1 in each of 3 accounts so as to remain a client should the lottery return. Easier than opening new accounts later ...

I believe that this topic is basically the same as https://www.highinterestsaving.....est-rates/
That is OK, I just wanted to mention it.
True, some Tang tier offers were for more than 6 months in the past, but that is a small detail.

Longer term...but lower rate than their 'opt-in lottery' offering. Why bother get a Saven account instead at 2.85% for any balance.

Maybe an elementary question but is Saven a broker or the actual financial institution?

Tiered rates are just a smoke screen distracting from the crappy interest that virtually evryone will get. How many people are going to go that far over CDIC limits?

Saven is a division of FirstOntario Credit Union. Insured by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario: https://savenfinancial.ca/en/f.....ochure.pdf

Four month GIC is currently 3.20% at Saven.
