I called before going to Mexico and they confirmed it will work with no fees on all Bank of NS ATMs. When I got there, the card didn't work on any BNS ATM. However, it worked on every other banks including Mexican and American ATMs.

BNS ATMs all gave me the same message. Timed out (Connectivity issue with the bank).

I called Tangerine and they apologized and said to call them back when I return from Mexico to have all the fees repaid. I tried calling multiple times but got tired of waiting and hung up. I am not sure if they are going to pay only the $2 charges by occurred by Tang or they will pay ($30 - $40 Mexican Pesos) fees too.

Anyone had any problem / luck using it on BNS ATM?

I will update after calling them.

I was able to use the BNS ATM at Puerto Vallarta airport on December 15, 2016 (no fee other than the stupid 9.5 pesos fraud insurance (or something similar - explanations only in Spanish), I did not find a way to decline that "insurance".

Just a quick update. I finally could talk to someone today. Well no waiting at all around 8 PM 🙂

They only refunded the fees by Tangerine only ($2 each transaction). They didn't agree to refund the fees charged by the ATM bank. Oh well! Not a big deal from money point of view but an issue as they didn't want to spend another $6 to make a loyal customer happy due to their fault!
