my Tangerine SA has $1 & 66¢ in it.

Have anyone heard of a hack to deposit $90K into someone's account, done in such a way that there is no record of it in transactions log and balance stays at $0.00?
I used to have about that much in my Savings before August 2022, when I emptied my account due to not competitive rates. I suspect someone at Tangerine executed "recognition" script over stale data from 6 months ago.

You can speculate all you want ⬆ ... but whenever an anomaly comes along in one's account(s), they would be Very Mistaken (and possibly Very Sorry) not to follow through with the suggestions made in Posts #5 & #6.
Even if there's presently no money in it, the Last thing anyone would want is an account that's been secretly Hacked.

Someone may have discovered a new technique whereby they 'ping' your account with a non-deposit, just to make sure that all the other stolen personal details are correct. I agree with those advising caution. Take preventative measures, such as changing passwords and verifying other personal details.
Even if there is no money currently present, they might just hang around and watch, like a spider in his web. If your e-mail is also compromised, they just need to wait for you to put in some money, get notification, and then transfer it to their own account.

Have you, by any chance, allowed any 3rd-party API (e.g. Flinks, Plaid, Zumrails, etc) to access your Tangerine account by giving them your username and password?

That's not my $90K and no sign there actually were $90K deposited into my Savings.
I am not going to contact Tangerine about it. Everything in my accounts is the way it is supposed to be and no suspicious transactions recorded.
My guess: someone at Tangerine got the stale copy of accounts DB to run marketing script against it. Maybe pulled the wrong DB backup. Perhaps, confused 12/08/2022 backup with 08/12/2022, or something like that.

Tangerine offered my 5% on Savings, so just for fun I moved exactly $90,738 to my Savings account. I wonder if Tangerine used time machine to recognize me for the deposit I was going to make in the future. 🙂
