3.6% till Dec 31st on new money from Oct 3rd. Activation required.

... I notice the pattern now, shorter period (3 months) with a chance of an extension with another rate later, yet still base on Oct 2nd balance.

Nothing showing for me. Did you get that tiered rate promo earlier?

the tiered rates for the savings account, I read that as everyone is entitled to that.

Did I read that wrong, is it a special promo.?

It does not appear to be listed in the list of previous promo offers in the promo history.

did anyone get a special promo offer while being entitled to the tiered rates/

Tang switched to the "by invitation only" mode a while back. So, are they switching back to "open to all"?

TD, as in TD Canada Trust? How do you get such a high rate?

I think the 4.90% is possibly a typo.

First, it's not a typo. My son got the same offer from TD.
Second, after a month of nothing, I just got the 3.6 offer from Tangerine.

I just recently became a customer, so my 4.50% for 5 months has a long way to go, but hopefully after Feb, we'll also get an extended offer ?

Q. I find it annoying that Tang puts a Hold on funds that you pull in by linked account. This can run 10 days, counting non-bus. days, transaction day etc.
Once your home FI sends the funds, aren't they guaranteed ? Simplii also does this, but not Manulife Bank. I realize the probably of suddenly needing to get at your cash is low, given you're putting it there to earn the higher promo rate, but I still find this practice odd. Is it just me ?

Dean, please expand on your “4.9% TD SA” post. Does SA mean savings account? Have you had previous offers? I’m currently taking advantage of the TD 120 day, minimum $10,000, offer.

I got the 3.85% promo rate email on Friday. I requested a total TFSA transfer-in Tangerine last month and still not listed in my Tangerine account yet. I activated the promo rate today. Does my incoming TFSA money eligible for the 3.85% rate?

No, it is not eligible.

I had RRSP transfer-in just 2-3 days before promo offer came. When I activated promo offer RRSP funds were not yet shown in my account. They appeared later. They did not collect promo interest. Called Tangerine, they explained pulled funds are considered to be in your Tangerine account the day you requested pull, even if you can't and won't see them for weeks.
They also said they apply regular interest to 'invisible' funds since the day pull was requested.

If I knew that in advance I would have bought RRSP GIC the moment funds appeared in my account. Instead, I waited till end of month expecting promo interest which never arrived. Lesson learned.

Hi, I find it annoying too. What you can do next time is send yourself an interact e-transfer for $5000 (example) and pull the rest. At least this way you will have immediate access to the $5000.
