How is Tangerine for joint savings to take advantage of opening 2.1% promo?

A Tang representative actually told me about having a spouse open a profile after my introductory promotion period ended. A new 153 day period begins when the new profile is created. She would simply create a new account, send me an invitation to join as a joint member, and then money could be transferred to it and earn the promotional interest rate. Just be certain to join a new account created under the new profile. Otherwise, if she joined one of my current accounts, the joint account would still be considered under my profile and thus ineligible for the promotion.

If one of the Tang joint account holders is already a member the couple is not eligible for the new acct promo?

The couple is eligible. Just make sure that the New member profile is the one to create any new accounts and then invite the other person, who was already a Tangerine member.
All accounts (TFSA, US, RRSP, SAV, ChQ) created by the new profile will qualify for the promotion. We did it in January and all accounts were covered. I do not think that Tang has changed anything.

Tang 2.1% new acct promo good till april30 they wont cut it short right

For a period of 10 days, I highly doubt Tangerine would bother to cut the promo short.

"Open your first eligible Savings Account and Chequing Account within 30 days, and you’ll earn 2.10% interest in your Savings Account for 5 months."
So once new client account opened April29 you have 30days FROM April29 to open the savings account to be eligible for promo 2.1% correct?

That sounds about right; you must have both a Savings account AND a Chq account in order to qualify for the offer.
I think that once you qualify with the 2 accounts, your promo period of 153 days begins.
You can try it for yourself. Open just a chequing or savings account and check your Profile and Settings section. Under the Bonuses & Contests tab, see if you have been offered the special promotion rate. Mine says:
"New Client Bundle Offer Fall 2020" 01/04/2021 Start date 06/05/2021 End date
