In the past 2-3 weeks I have received no less than 8 offers from various FIs offering LOC, cc, etc. They must be feeling confident.

The offers I received are non-binding. They are more solicitations than offers.
The financial institution can decline to approve the line of credit or credit card after I apply should they not like what they see.

And, after all these years, most of them still call their ads "pre-approved" offers.

I have been secondary person on my wife's BMO checking account for 10 years.
Every two weeks since then, like clockwork, I get a personally addressed snail mail offer for a premium BMO MC. I tossed the first few but I soon switched to sending the blank application back in their prepaid return enveloppe.
I still get them by snail mail every two weeks but now only the offer and broad T&C's and an online link to apply online but no prepaid return enveloppe for me to annoy them with.
They took all the fun out of the process!
