Here’s what else you need to know:

You’ll earn 5.15%* interest from December 1, 2024 until February 28, 2025.

This will apply to existing and new Tangerine Savings Account(s), including RSP, TFSA and US$.

This will apply to the new money you brought to your Account(s) since September 5, 2024.

Remember to activate your special rate and keep your new deposits in place to make the most of your offer.

Stay tuned!

Copying Malquin's November 29, 2024 message as it relates to promo expiring November 30:

-----
I also just got the 4.6% rate, not like The Rock's 5.15%. One improvement is that Tangerine is providing the new promo rate starting right after the expiry of the current promo, rather than waiting about 3-5 days when we would be receiving the low regular rate if we keep the funds in Tangerine savings. Also, the advance notice helps, as it probably costs Tangerine money to process the transfers out and in of funds in between promotions.

As for the games they play, I guess they would rather spend their money on marketing consultants and telephone service agents fielding questions from customers, rather than just giving loyal clients the same rate with proper notice. It looks like Simplii is learning from them because their recent promos also do not offer the same rate for all clients. Lesson learned is that once you put enough money in your account, chances are you will get a lower rate on the next promo. So much for rewarding customer loyalty ...
