For five year terms, Steinbach is now top of the heap. They have a sliding scale depending on the amount of the deposit.

Less than $100K 4.30%
$100K - $249,999 4.35%
$250K** and over 4.40%

Good to see. I have done business with Steinbach from here in BC, as they are Canada-wide. Clunky interface, but good personal service. They are one of the larger CUs in Canada, and all deposits insured by provincial CU coverage (up to a million, I believe, if not unlimited).

I finally closed my account with Steinbach last month as I just couldn't put up with all their inconveniences any longer and saw no future for me there. See my comments on other thread.
The last straw was attending their online AGM. I found the attitude of the board chair in particular and also the CEO to a lesser extent were not respectful of members.

Maybe I would find them more attractive if I lived in BC where options are more limited. They do occasionally have market-leading rates.

Unlimited insurance.

I imagine other FIs will catch up soon.

Actually, just realized that Tandia tops Steinbach...4.5% compared to 4.4%.

The 4.5% is gone (at least for to-day).
