They aren't comfortable creating excitement, building faster and there could be way more info if they new what was important stuff the admin could simply add.

NAH...

Here's what Peter set out as his mandate -

"The site is independent and unaffiliated. Our goal is to provide an educational and welcoming community for people to discuss Canadian high interest savings accounts and other related topics."

He pretty much has stuck to it. He allows the participants a fair amount of latitude in their postings and, even though I don't always agree with his moderating decisions, he does a pretty good job overall.

Peter does an excellent job moderating this site. I know that my views and opinions are off center and that many (if not most) of my posts get removed. That doesn't bother me. The effort given by Peter to keep this forum up and running smoothly, astonishes me.

Peter, i thank you for a job well done.

...discuss Canadian high interest savings accounts and other related topics."

Majority of us want to get, out of the FI, the “most bang for the buck”, irrespective of the “head office” location. It is appropriate to state any perceived risks, however these can be communicated without criticism of the underlying entity.

...without excitement”.

Peter is trying to adhere to that, which is excellent.

Can you provide some specific examples of what else you'd like to see on this site?

I found this site a couple of months ago and it has helped me a great deal, especially the GIC comparison page. The one thing that would help me is the addition of banks that are not listed and are mentioned elsewhere like ratehub, forum threads and redflagdeals.

Thanks so much for your work on this site Peter.

What i would like is a discussion of Canadian bond and prices , stripped bond in particular as they are most like GIC what kind of yield people are getting on whose bonds and the risk of said bonds

You don't have to buy this forum hotmony. Open your own. Lots of easy to setup forum software out there. We'll all flock there for hot bond tips.

Good like Snoop I've tried before for years I gave up the bond market is closed to retail. Nobody knows and the ones that do keep it quiet its a cartel. I get the garbage sent out from the likes of waterhouse in the hopes one day they'll have something worthwhile im not holding my breath will probably unsubscribe. As far as bond pricing valuing switching waste of time nobody knows the few who do won't educate. A nod to retail investors price some issues at par start by keeping it simple.

Peter is doing a great job. Thanks Peter.

To the OP, if you have a constructive comment to help improving anything feel free to bring it up, otherwise there are many other forums you can use / read.

I have been on here for years and not going anywhere. The help I get from the members and their updates is priceless. Doesn't really matter if I make $$ or not out of it but I def used it a lot even in a personal life matter not just economical plans. So please don't be negative but try to be helpful 🙂

Let's keep this forum to high interest accounts and GICs.

If someone wants to rant and rave about other investments such as stocks and bonds, try

I think it's time to close this thread. It's not going anywhere and the title itself has no responses.

Why is there always someone wanting to limit freedom of speech.

It's a pretty innocuous thread and maybe someone will come up with a solid idea. I vote to let it slide off the board naturally.

I guess there's always somebody who wants threads to be intelligible and coherent. This is a pain for some, no doubt.

Personally, I don't find very much that's unintelligible these days BUT I guess that's the beauty of being raised in a multi-ethnic environment, where we learned German from our father, Polish from our mother, and English from our community and school.
