If I had $7.8 million I might well put it under my mattress in $20's and gold bars and wait my time out.

I believe somebody questioned SD2013 as to the number of members in his 'family', but I don't think he gave an answer.

$7.8m is an impressive portfolio, but if that is split between 20 family members with equal share, then maybe not so much.

As for the gold bars, it is amazing that no members of this forum ever discuss owning PMs as part of their preservation of wealth.

Maybe PM is not discussed because this forum's theme is focused primarily on online banks and credit unions for highest interest rates? I can think of at least 2 other forums where broader investment matters are discussed.

@Loonie - exactly right. Thank you to those who are not prejudice.

Investors with larger sums of money (think $3+Million) are inclined to protect their wealth. SD's strategies do not work for everyone, but they work for SD and others like him - he was simply trying to educate.
