As said in topic name, why it's chart and not table?
(pedantic, I know 😉 )

How do you view the two as different?

Some people mistakenly use those terms interchangeably, but you are
correct, Vic ... a 'Chart' is a graphical display (drawing) :

.
What are called 'charts' on this site, are actually 'Tables' :

.
But I don't think Peter will lose any sleep over it. sf-wink

Actually, not exactly. Though it is true that charts are primarily a graphical presentation of information, it depends on the way the context of the word. I found this comment that explains it well IMO:

"Table and chart are often used interchangeably in English. Consider “Chart of Accounts,” which is a table or list of accounts. “Graph” always implies a graphic like a bar chart (bar graph). “Table” always means information (usually text) organized into rows and columns. “Chart” usually only means a graphical representation of data when preceded by an adjective like “bar chart,” “Gantt chart,” etc. When “Chart” is used on its own, it is usually synonymous with “Table.”"

I believe it is because of this lack of distinction that the confusion sometimes arises. I too had momentarily forgotten the truth of the last statement. Another example would be flip chart, one kind being just a large blank stack of papers, often hung vertically on a stand in a boardroom, used as a workspace, which can be used in whatever way desired, and is neither a table nor a chart in the usual sense.

I usually think of Charts as graphical representations of Tables of data.
