Hello fellow savers,

do we currently have a method to compare GICs that don't fit in the existing columns on the comparison chart ? Or have this topic been discussed in the past ?

I see the potential expanding the bottom portion to a rate centered table. Consequently, shortest term required is the leader for a given rate.
However, I think it can be labour intensive to maintain.

For example,

Rate FI Offer(s)
2.50%
  • Oaken/270-364 days GIC
  • Peoples Trust/15-month GIC

As for layout, I prefer scrolling vertically (more rows) to scrolling sideways (more columns) ... also hate browsing mega spreadsheets sf-frown always get lost in them.

Thanks for the idea. Because the data is broken out in a database, technically this wouldn't be too hard to automate. However, only the most standard terms are in the database -- not 15-month terms for example -- so the automated version would be incomplete unless there is an efficient way to expand the data stored.
