Tangerine just offered a targeted upto 3.25 % Net New Deposit offer from July 5 to September 30, 2016.

Do you think PC Financial will match that offer, if you call in ? ..or come anywhere close to it for Net New Deposits ?

What has been the past experience of forum members, when calling in to PC Financial to get any rate match or close to it ?

Maybe PC might have a similar offer, if they see lot of money being with withdrawn and heading to Tangerine ?

Not likely, here's what I just received from President's Choice:
"If you could use more money, you’re in luck. Because for a limited time, when you open a President’s Choice Financial® savings account you can earn a great rate of 1.75% for six months* on new deposits when your account balance is $2,500 or more."
Laughable.........

My daughter and I were looking into this PC Financial promo mentioned above ; only deposits made in month of opening acct., and the following month, e.g. the rest of July & all August, would earn 1.75%...any deposits made to that newly opened acct. Sept-Jan would earn only regular (.8%) interest. (that's the way I interpret the 'fine print', very deceptive advertising, in my mind)

bpwest, you read it correctly, under the section "How the 1.75% savings offer works". Pretty standard, there are always terms and conditions (e.g. you also have to maintain a minimum $2500 balance at all times in this case) for all these promotional offers, you can't just go by the big, bolded, catchy heading. They put an asterisk in the heading to let you know to check out the details further down the same page. And if your daughter's a youngster it's a good opportunity to teach her to ALWAYS confirm the details - that's where the devil lives.
