Received email this morning outlining promotional 2% interest for new deposits after aug 31st up to 500k. Usual simplii term of promo interest being paid in March 2022 I believe- after promo has ended. Promo ends Feb 28th 2022. Invite only.

Thanks for the update. I haven't received any email about the 2% promo.

I didn't receive the offer in email either, but when I logged in, I saw the targeted 2% offer.

Try logging in. You might be targeted too.

I don't remember if I activated the offer or not, after I saw it after logging in.

I was on Mobile, so didn't pay much attention to it.

Now I can't see the offer anywhere! Is there a place where I can see it?

Is it possible to accidentally decline the offer? And then you don't see it again, after logging in?

Thanks. I actually called Simplii and was told "no offer for you" but I'll log in later anyway.

Question: Does Simplii currently have two concurrent promos, one for 1.50% and now one for 2%?

Even better! 2.20%! Found this at
https://www.simplii.com/en/bank-accounts/high-interest-savings.html

"New client offer
Earn 2.20% interest† on your savings
Open an account and get a special interest rate.

Limits apply. Offer ends October 31, 2021."

Of course, this is only for new clients. The rate is good only until the end of October.

Otherwise, no offers for me at the moment.

After you accept the offer, does anyone remember where we can see it to confirm it is activated? or is this the "hope for an email" and wait for a bonus program?

I accepted the offer on Friday and received the confirmation email on Saturday.

I spoke to an Agent to clarify the beginning balance accounts and he said that the "Beginning balance is the Aug 31 amount in HISA account" and to be more specific, he quoted me the balance and said any September onwards deposits that increase the beginning balance will earn the Promotional rate. To be clear, the beginning balance no longer includes chequing account. I asked again if he was "sure" and he responded yes, but took down my suggestion that they include examples for future Promotions and circulate it among their agents as this is a frequent query and they should be consistent in their response.

For those who were on the 1.5% Promo set to expire Oct.31. You should still get the 1.5% Promo rate to the end of Oct, but Nov. 1 onwards, it will be part of the Aug 31 beginning balance (earning 0.10%).

For a long time I did not get any offers from Tangerine and I infrequently use them. However, since I use Simplii more often My theory is that the Algorithm uses volume of transaction instead of just beginning or ending balances (like a Casino when they offer Perks for volume of gaming transactions). In other words, I seem to be getting frequent Simplii offers because I often move money to other Financial institutions and vice versa.

Same story here. I got email confirmation today as well. I also interpreted the terms to be the same as you. Which would not include a chequing account balance as they define savings accounts as the benchmarks and using the closing balance on August 31st going forward.

I'm a customer but no 2% email offer and no 2% offer when I log in.

I got a 3.3% GIC at Simpli in 2019. No interesting offerings from Simpli since. That GIC matures in February and those funds will verrrrrry likely go elsewhere ...

PC Financial was great. When they announced a promo, it was available to all. Now Simplii (and Tangerine) are playing silly little games with their promos.

Same, no email or offer when I logged in. Maybe my balance of just $0.26 didn't entice them enough to make me an offer.

Do we all have enough money together to start our own bank/credit union and give ourselves our desired rate of return?
New thread?

I just read about the new promo for 2% on Simpli’s HISA for 6 months. I logged in to my account and didn’t see the 2% offer anywhere so I phoned them. The representative looked at my account, which has a current balance of $2, and she said the 2% offer actually IS on my account. She said it won’t appear online but she made a note and said I will receive an email with the terms and conditions within the next 24 hours. Be sure to call Simplii and check to see if there is an offer on your account because it didn’t appear on mine.
