PC Financial deposit accounts (not including PC Financial credit cards) provided by CIBC to be transitioned to new Simplii Financial in November:

Globe & Mail: CIBC to cut ties with President’s Choice, unveils own digital bank
Financial Post: PC Financial customers to move to Simplii as CIBC, Loblaw part ways

From CIBC: Launches new direct banking brand through Simplii Financial:

In conjunction with this launch, CIBC and President's Choice Bank have agreed that they will wind-down their consumer banking offer, and clients with President's Choice Financial® products provided by CIBC will transition to Simplii Financial. As the bank behind the President's Choice Financial® consumer banking offer for nearly 20 years, CIBC already provides banking products and services to these clients, as well as mobile, online and telephone banking support. There are no changes to PC Financial® MasterCard® products as they are offered by President's Choice Bank.

The Simplii Financial brand will replace the President's Choice Financial® brand banking products and services issued by CIBC, effective November 1. Clients can continue to use their bank accounts without interruption and expect the same no-fee daily banking.

Well dang it, was afraid something like this might happen later. There are no CIBC's close to any route I or my spouse take, but there are 3 Scotia banks in the area on the way or in walking distance go figure.

We were mainly using PC for the free Cheques and easy access ATM. Will have to consider switching back to Tang for everyday banking

CIBC's branch and ATM locator is at CIBC Branches and ATMs.

Perhaps, there is a nearby Petro Canada, Pioneer, or ONroute gas station with a CIBC ATM.

The off-topic discussion about cash and ATMs in general was moved to this other, closed thread. Please continue to discuss Simplii Financial here. Any further off-topic posts will be removed.

You need to pay for Tang cheques. $20 (+GST?) per booklet of 50 cheques except the first booklet is free.
