Does Peoples Trust still not have an RRSP savings account?

Similar to Oaken, PT does still Not have an RRSP SA ... but unlike Oaken, they Do have a TFSA SA.

Quite frankly, one should be able to have ONE RRSP primary account in which one can have a variety of GICS plus HISA sub-account, all under the umbrella of one 'account'. Just as brokerages do. Incredibly lame.....

Not too many FI's left that don't have SA's for both their RRSP's & TFSA's.

Oaken is the Worst Offender ...
Neither their RRSP's, nor their TFSA's have SA's. And for some unknown reason, Oaken has been dragging their heals on that for Years now. sf-frown

AltaRed, RBC Direct Investing (as an example) offered 1-year GIC rates starting at under .7% this week, their HISA rates are probably similarly not compelling, so for those who want only GICs in their RRSPs I think they feel they can do much better, maybe even double that rate for example these days, by rate chasing and moving their RRSP account around to wherever the rate is currently one of the better ones. I use a broker but I'm not sure I'd use one if I was a GIC holder inside my RRSP.

Of course I always wonder what do people do re CDIC, i.e. if they have $600K in RRSPs they have to have at least 6 separate RRSP accounts at different institutions to have complete coverage, correct? Sounds like a full time job if you're rate chasing for GICs in your RRSP or RRIF.

My point was not to compare opportunities between brokerages and other FIs. It was along the lines of why can't the banks and CUs offer an umbrella account in which one could hold multiple GICs and HISA from their own institution, rather than individual account numbers for each holding?
