I don’t think Peoples Bank has TFSAs. All I can find is e-savings. I’m close to the 100,000 for CDIC coverage in my TFSA in Peoples Trust and wanted to start a new TFSA in Peoples Bank. No can do, unless I just don’t see it.
Can someone tell me for sure? I wrote to them but got no reply.

I don't see anything about TFSAs either.
You'd probably be best to phone them to clarify.

Peoples Bank doesn't appear to offer registered accounts right now.

Their online New Client web form has the following. One is directed to Peoples Trust when one selects a registered account or GIC:

Account Selection

If you are opening a GIC, Peoples Bank™ e-Savings, or Peoples EasyTransaction™ account, please select that option below to continue opening your account with Peoples Bank. Please note that a GIC Account will require either an e-Savings or EasyTransaction account to access your GIC funds upon maturity. You will be prompted to open that account, if you do not already have one, after this current application is complete.

If you are opening a registered account including an RSP, TFSA or TFSA GIC, please click on the button below to open this account with Peoples Trust Company.

I found this on People’s Bank. Perhaps you should call them. Looking at rates...shows no GIC types like on Peoples Trust.

On Peoples Trust you can order a GIC online or offline. Apparently you enter more info offline which I don’t do....the online option is very quick and easy. Which way are you trying?

Since either method requires me to call in, I use the online method. I call in to have all GICs mature to the appropriate savings account and also to pay interest to the appropriate savings account, annually.

Thank you for your replies. The bank never did answer me. Looks like by your replies they don’t have TFSA. I’ll have to go somewhere else for a new TFSA. I always found PT excellent for service and that’s why I wanted to go with PB. Oh well.

Post 13 is a screen shot from Peoples Bank. It DOES show that they have TFSA.
Did you try to order one from Peoples Bank:
1. Online
2. Off-line.

I just tried to do an offline order of a GIC.
Try this
And this was the selection.

You CAN select a TFSA GIC deposit. Click NEW CLIENT and look at the drop down menu by clicking the small triangle.

I opened up a TFSA GIC several weeks ago.Had to open it with Peoples Trust. When I called Peoples Bank they told me they didn't offer the registered GIC's.They hooked me up on the spot to connect my accounts from Peoples Trust to Peoples Bank.Moved the money over & had the TFSA Gic's right away.Did the same with the wife's accounts during the same call.Minimum wait on the phone & excellent service.
