I had some GIC's mature at Omnia from when they were the leaders of the pack for GIC rates last year, with the proceeds of the matured funds to be transferred to my big 5 hub account.

Instructions were provided a couple of weeks ago, with the required documentation to identify the target account.

Today was the maturity date, and first thing this morning the funds were transferred to a "holding account " at Omnia. I was told the funds would be pushed to my "hub" account the same day, and so, as promised, by 6pm the same day as the GIC matured and the push from Omnia, the funds posted in my big 5 hub account.

The people at Omnia are a joy to deal with, as they take a genuine interest in helping to answer questions and resolve concerns with personalized service.

They admit their deposit rates are lower right now, as they are focused on mortgages, but suggested watching for deposit rate specials in the Fall.

Based on my experience with Omnia this past year, I would deal with them again without hesitation, if and when their rates suit my needs.

Again Omnia Direct has exceeded my expectations!

GIC matured July 18...instructions on maturity to EFT funds to my TD hub account.

On verification at 8 am July 18, funds were withdrawn from Omnia an posted at TD, indicating the transfer was processed overnight, the date of maturity.

Now that's service!!

My GIC interest monthly payout falls on 28th, Sunday. To my delight, the transaction is already seen today, along side OAS & CPP, the 27th on my TD account post dated 29th sf-smile

I am just trying them out. I forgot to copy and paste my personal access code I so need to call back in. How are renewal instructions changed? Is it simply auto renewed at the same term by default?
