I wonder if TD put funds on hold as well? This would be annoying.
The request to Meridian I made on the phone. Had to wait for answer for ~15 min. After that - quick. I'd say ok service.  

Your funds will continue to accrue interest at Meridian until the day they are sent to TD. (They still show in your account-- just not "available")
I was surprised this morning, when I checked on a transfer I had initiated on Wednesday, to Royal Bank. The funds landed at Royal this morning, and show in my balance there. (I didn't expect them to arrive on a Saturday) And, at Meridian, they still actually show in my balance there-- they will come out later today or this evening

TD will not have a hold on when your funds arrive, since they are "pushed" in

Update: Today, Thu Apr. 4th, 5:30PST, funds ordered for transfer still showing at Meridian and already showing at TD bank, available, not on hold.
Works for me.
I should add: I am quite pleased with Meridian's execution so far. I wish they would offer me extension - I would stick with them.
