I've experienced instability issues with the Android version of Manulife mobile app.

The app would unexpectedly crash while logging in, performing an operation such as a mobile deposit, or on logging out. Internal app operations appear to also be sluggish.

I use mobile apps for other FI's with no issues whatsoever.

Google Play Store also contains recent reports of other users having similar issues with the Manulife app.

On the positive side, unlike some FI's who limit access to their apps to devices registered as Canadian (eg. Meridian, Motus), Manulife android app can be downloaded to a device registered as other than Canadian.

What's been your experience?

I've had mixed results. I used it to make 2 deposits without incident last week and I also was able to add a linked account the same day. However, over the following days it booted me out of the app a couple times when I tried to check on fund arrivals and I had to log back in again.

Then yesterday afternoon I was trying to add another linked account. I tried 3 different times but it kept hanging me in an endless loop after entering all the account information and uploading a pic of a void cheque. I finally gave up on the app and used my laptop to do it instead, which took about 15 seconds max.

Not a big problem for me since I do all my serious stuff in my office and tend to think of these banking apps as a "for emergency use only" feature anyway
