This offer was supposed to be open until Mar10, being today. Anyone know if Manulife pulled the plug before today? The email offer rec'd doesn't bring up the offer when clicked on. It brings me to the login page, but no offer pops up as it has in the past.

The 4.70% rate is still mentioned on the Advantage account product page.

Same if one clicks on the  Open an account  link there.

Thanks Rock & Norm. The Rock's link worked perfectly, but for some reason, when I clicked on Norm's link, it only stated the 1.85% base rate...maybe certain javascript limits prevent webpages from displaying certain contents...all this hairsplitting's too complicated for me.

Manulife Bank has updated the Advantage account product page since this morning. The 4.70% is gone from there now.

If one clicks on the "Open an account" link on that page, the 4.70% is still there. But, today (March 10) is the last day. So, the timing is quite close:

"To qualify for this offer, a new application for an Eligible Account must be received and accepted by Manulife Bank during the Offer Period [between December 12, 2024 and March 10, 2025]. …"

Thanks for the reminder. I didn't realize that the cut off date was today. I just opened mine.

BTW, is there a charge if the account is under $1000 at any time or just at the end of each month?

Thank you so much.sf-smile

I transferred all my money from an old ManualLife savings account (now $0) to the new one.

I hope you transferred your funds to an external account first before moving it into the new account?

Funds should NOT be transferred DIRECTLY from any another Manulife account to the new promo account, as it is not deemed to be "new money" officially, and probably wouldn't qualify for the promo rate. Read their terms & conditions and the other Manulife thread here "4.70%...".

Oh yes, you are right. I didn't even think about it. Thanks for pointing that out. The amount is not that significant as its just over $1000.

The good news is anything over and above the $1000 from an external source will qualify for the promotional interest.

I read the terms to the promotional offer. The terms say deposits from December 12, 2024 to March 10, 2025 qualify for the offer. Even if you open the account on March 10 (like I did) does it mean that any deposits afterwards won't be counted?

That's not what my Manulife Advantage offer says.

The offer I'm on says Promotional Interest will be paid on Net New Deposits made during the Promotional Period. Not on deposits made during the Offer Period.

Offer Period is between December 12, 2024 and March 10, 2025. Promotional Period is beginning the date the account is opened and continuing 120 days.
