Hello everyone,

What are your thoughts or insights into the future of LBC Digital? Will it continue to exist or is it destined to be shut down by Laurentian?

Thanks.

To be honest, I'm surprised it hasn't been shut down already. I closed my B2B and LBC Digital accounts years ago, but still have active profiles for both. LBC has been in trouble for years, thought someone would buy them out, like Dejardins.

I don't see a reason for LB itself to continue, never mind LBC Digital. I never saw such a lame digital offering in my life as I did LBC Digital. Amateur hour at best.

What does an active profile provide? Do these profiles automatically remain after account closure?

It's been awhile since I last logged into the profiles. Just tried now and it triggers a OTP to the associated email address which is something new, maybe it's because I haven't logged in for a long time. Nevertheless, the OTP fails when I input it, just LBC living up to their hard earned reputation. No, I'm not going to call them as I don't care.

I recently tried to log into LB, after quite an absence-- not sure how long, but months, anyway
Had to call them to get it unlocked
I'm not sure, but I believe they just lock your login after a given period of inactivity

They switched to a mandatory 2FA by email last december.
I also had to call, it didn't work for me, something to do with unsupported characters in my password.
I still bank with them even if the interface is not a pleasure to use and the delays to pull/push money are slow but it's still a CDIC insured bank and the rates they offer in QC are still in the middle of the pack.
They keep changing CEO and looking for a niche. I woudn't be surprised if they end up being bought by a bigger bank.

Ran into that issue as well. Their online banking will let you set a password with "unsupported" characters. But, then not let you log in with that password!

In contrast, other sites encourage one to use "unsupported" characters like @, /, $, =, and + in one's password to make it harder to guess.

I suspect a group of people who still needed adult supervision made that banking system.
