Today's workers can't even get through the first couple sentences of the announcement right:
"The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) will permanently close all drop boxes currently available at 45 locations across Canada on May 29, 2026. This change will take place after the 2026 tax filing season to minimize disruption for taxpayers."

I passed by 1 Front Street here in Toronto 3-4 days ago and the drop box is already gone and the doors to the building were all locked. It appeared that the CRA is closed for business.

CRA was gone from that 1 Front Street West address by April 2024.
Federal government sold the Dominion Public Building in 2017.

Ah, I can nostalgically remember how cars and trucks would line up along Pender Street (I think it was) to drop their returns, and I'd park my motorcycle on the sidewalk, drop my return without waiting, and trundle off!

Where did the CRA go? Where are they now? Prior to 1 Front Street they used to be in a building on Adelaide Street.
I used to get a T1 General package in the mail every year. Nothing so far this year.

CRA Office and drop box locations lists these Toronto area locations with drop boxes:
25 St.Clair Avenue East
Toronto ON M4T 1M4
5800 Hurontario Street
Mississauga ON L5R 4B4
200 Town Centre Court
Scarborough ON M1P 4Y3
There's no walk-in counter service at any of the locations. Just a mailing address and, until May 28, a drop box.
