I've initiated my last transfer of around 3000$ out of my ICICI HiSave account to tranfer my last sum that hasn't cleared yet and what was written in the pop-up of the confirmation?

"Hot payment completed. Your confirmation number is..."

Yes, hot payment. WTF IS UP WITH ICICI? Your a financial institution, not a kiddie doing jokes about my money!!!!!!

I've got 1 indian friend in my class and he said that we should never trust indians.

However, for higher interest rate, I won't hesitate to move my money back from HSBC when the 1% extra promo will end

Perhaps "Hot payment" is a term used for transactions over the internet--I don't know. As for listening to your school friend, that's like saying all white people can't be trusted when selling a house (and I'm white). Remember that ICICI is CDIC insured and has to meet the standards Canada imposes on all banks.

Remove your money if you want but do so as an informed and rational manner...just my 2 cents.

Yes, let's not get racist in this forum. Whether or not you have had good service from ICICI, let's not pin in on skin colour.

Well, personally I have had no problem with ICICI and am really satisfied however my indian friend, well he's born here in Canada, but all his family has immigrated from India told me that they have different values according to finances and how to treat strangers and manage money of their investors. That's partly shown by the use of goons by ICICI bank in India.

Moreover, 1st generation indians do not have good opinion of white quebekers, they are seen as lazy and unreliable person so they do not like when one of their child decides to go out with a white french canadian boy/girl. Well, this is racist vs me because I'm french but you guys aren't aimed with this accusation ;). That was funny when he told me that, that was no offense to me but as a general rule, white people are seen as more lazy and not as hard working as other immigrants and indian families prefer to exclude white people from their families. They're a bit more strict. The color ain't important, the values are.

However, since it's CIDC insured, it's all safe.

The service in ICICI bank is poor compared with other Canadian banks.
My GIC was matured on Mar 14, but after two days it was still locked as GIC. The customer service representative told me that it should be automatically transferred to my saving account, however, he could not check my account because the system was under maintenance, I have called them more than 5 times, everytime they had differents excusses not to process the transfer.

It has been a waste of time journey dealing with ICICI bank for past years. The customer service representatives are useless, and the online systems are inefficient.

I have decided to transfer all my money out of ICICI, and never deal with it.

First, your GIC can't mature on Saturday, Mar 14 because that's a bank holiday. It will mature on Monday, Mar 16.

Second, Mar 14 was only yesterday. How is it possible that it's been two days?!

Stop being hysterical. Your GIC will automatically mature and be deposited into your savings account on Monday. I had a GIC with ICICI Bank and everything went perfectly. And stop posting the same message in different forums!

Max,

"Hot Payment" means that your funds were deducted from your ICICI account and transferred to your external chequing account

    the same business day

. Most of the other online banks will only initiate the transfer the next business day. As far as I know, ICICI is the only online bank that offers this service.

Jeremy, Don't tell me the wrong information. I have two GICs with ING bank matured on Saturday, and they were all automatically transferred to my saving account on Saturday morning.

You indicated that "It will mature on Monday, Mar 16", actually I just checked online, Still is locked, now is 10:40am on Monday!!! Till now, it has past more than two days!!! It is locked!

I just want to tell people my true expenrience, and I have right to post it to tell more people. I like ING Bank much more than ICICI bank, only the comparison can tell the TURTH!

Jeremy, you indicate that "Stop being hysterical", I can not accept your hostility. You don't know how to respect others.

Even the customer service in ICICI recognize that the GIC should be automatically transferred to my saving account on Saturday, and the manager agreed with me, but he could not do it on Saturday for some reasons, why you are telling people the wrong information?

Your GIC matures and gets deposited into your savings account on Monday, but you won't see that until Tuesday. By the way, are you sure you picked the correct renewal option? There are three renewal options; if you picked reinvest principal and interest or reinvest principal and deposit interest, it will renew automatically, but you can redeem it provided it's a redeemable GIC. (ICICI Bank introduced non-redeemable GICs only recently.) The option to deposit principal and interest may not be the default option.
