According to email received today:

Access will upgrade its online banking and mobile apps on November 18, 2026. This upgrade will launch multi-factor authentication for added security.

Effective November 18, 2026, the most current app versions will be:
iOS 19.3.9
Android 19.3.8

To check which app you are on, click on the "More" menu at the bottom of the app screen > Information > App Info.

This new release requires members to be on the latest operating systems (OS) for optimal performance, security, and support.

iOS: must be operating system (OS) 17 or higher.
Android: must be on Android 11 or higher.

It is recommended that you always update your device to the latest OS versions available for your devices! Members with unsupported devices, that are unable to upgrade to the required OS, may still use their iPads or phones for digital banking using the mobile web or web browser on those devices.

What’s changing?
When online banking and the mobile apps are upgraded on November 18, 2026, members will be prompted to sign in using a new Multi -Factor Authentication (MFA) Solution.

All members will be required to enroll in MFA the first time they sign in after the upgrade. This is part of our commitment to protecting your financial information.

When you open your app on or after Nov 18, you will:
You’ll be asked to select one of four MFA options: Push Notification, Web Authentication, Text Message, or Voice Call.
For the fastest and most seamless experience, we recommend selecting Push Notification as your MFA method if you have the mobile banking app downloaded (push notifications only work with the mobile app).
Once set up, you can add up to five trusted devices to simplify future logins.

E-mail was from "Access Credit Union" instead of "Hubert Financial".

As a Hubert customer for many years, I also did receive this email. I asked a Hubert agent about it, and was assured it should only apply to mobile devices, not desktop computers.

Because fraudsters don't steal laptops or break into people's homes as it's considered rude?

Desktop computers are much more upgradable than laptops. Parts are so much less specific that adding capabilities is much cheaper, and newer parts can be added that were not available when the machine was built.

When buying a laptop, one often has to pay top dollar for the best parts since the higher spec will not likely be available later.

All told, aside from price, desktop computers can be kept and used for more than twice as long as laptops. They are also much cheaper to repair and harder to abscond with.
