Received an email about them dealing with a power outage. Things should be back to normal soon.

Their web site was up. But, their online banking was dead yesterday morning.

This is a copy of the e-mail Inxses mentioned:

We're sorry for the technical difficulties.

Following a power outage on Friday, we are having some technical issues with our communication channels. If you've been trying to get in touch, we promise we're not ignoring you. We're working on getting our emails and chat up and running again this morning.

If you reached out yesterday, we will do our best to get you an answer as soon as we can.

Again, we are very sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Sincerely,

Your friends at Hubert

Things must have been spotty. I tried chat a few times to no avail. But they did answer phone. They explained of a power outage. After call I set up a new account with no issues.

It was good that they informed every one of the problem and better if they could have emailed yesterday.

Hi Chuck,

Would you mind de-pressing your CAPS LOCK? It seems to be stuck in the 'on' position and it makes hard to read TEXT IN ALL CAPS LIKE THIS. Internet etiquette norms also consider it like "virtual shouting".

Cheers,
Doug

From a previous post:
PLEASE EXCUSE THE CAPS, I'M A HALF BLIND, ONE FINGER TYPER WITH TREMORS.

I apologize to the OP for suggesting they depress CAPS LOCK. I hadn't realized they said they were half blind and had tremors. My bad.

Cheers,
Doug

Or rather than a potential excuse, would it be possible for Chuck to expand his screen or font size to not appear to be shouting?

Good point, Denise. That seems like a reasonable suggestion. sf-cool

Chuck,

Sounds like Hubert Financial had a power outage on Friday, which took down their chat, e-mail, and possibly, their telephony (VoIP?) servers. sf-cool

See their e-mail notification below (screenshot below).

DOUG - YOUR SCREEN SHOT AND POSSIBLY YOUR ACCOMPANYING TEXT WILL NOT BE EASY FOR CHUCK TO SEE.

DENISE - YOUR IDEA MIGHT WORK. IF YOU PUT iT IN CAPS, PERHAPS HE CAN READ IT AND DECIDE. IF HE'S INTERESTED, HE MIGHT APPRECIATE IT IF YOU SHOWED HIM, STEP-BY-STEP HOW HE COULD DO THIS. THIS WOULD PROBABLY BE EASIER THAN HIM TRYING TO FIGURE IT OUT WITH HIS IMPAIRED VISION.

CHUCK - DO YOU WANT HELP WITH THIS OR NOT?

In further thinking the onus is 100% on Chuck. The keyboard is the input and assume a one finger typist would be accurate. So the screen is the confirmation that is no different than all the other posts he reads here and in general everywhere else online and what is done personally on his electronic devices. How does Chuck manage to read every one else’s posts? If Chuck has a problem here...then he must have everywhere else too.

Personally I won’t give my reasons but I rarely read anything, anywhere that is all in caps.

DENISE, IT'S EASY TO SEE THAT YOU DON'T HAVE CHUCK'S PROBLEM. LUCKY FOR YOU.

MY MEMORY OF WHAT CHUCK HAS POSTED IN THE PAST SUGGESTS THAT HE IS OFTEN CONFUSED ABOUT VARIOUS THINGS BECAUSE HE CAN'T READ THEM AND HAS TROUBLE NAVIGATING. HE COMES HERE FOR HELP WITH WHAT HE DOESN'T UNDERSTAND. YOU, OF COURSE, DON'T HAVE TO GIVE IT. AND IT WOULD PROBABLY BE BEST FOR ALL CONCERNED IF YOU STUCK TO YOUR POLICY OF NOT READING HIS POSTS DUE TO THEIR BEING IN ALL CAPS.

YOU DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH EFFORT IT TAKES FOR HIM TO HIT THOSE KEYS AND MAKE THOSE POSTS OR WHAT KIND OF KEYBOARD OR OTHER ADAPTATIONS HE MAY HAVE IN ORDER TO MAKE THEM, OR WHETHER HE'S A TOUCH TYPIST AND DOESN'T NEED TO. NONE OF THIS HAS ANY BEARING ON WHAT HE CAN PERCEIVE ON THE SCREEN.

OF COURSE, IF HE HAS PROBLEMS HERE, HE UNDOUBTEDLY DOES HAVE PROBLEMS ELSEWHERE. YOUR POINT?

I THINK THERE MAY BE SOME ALTERNATIVES FOR HIM, BUT I DON'T HAPPEN TO KNOW WHAT THEY ARE. IN THE MEANWHILE, I WILL TRY TO ACCOMMODATE HIM.

TO EVERYONE WHO COMMENTED ON MY CAPS, I'M SORRY IF MY TYPING OFFENDS YOU.
MY EYESIGHT IS BETTER AS I HAD 2 OPERATIONS. I DID NOT TAKE TYPING IN SCHOOL NOR HAVE I EVER OWNED ANY DEVICE THAT REQUIRES TYPING HENCE THE "ONE FINGER". WHEN I SAY ANY DEVICE I'M INCLUDING A TELEPHONE.
THE BIGGEST PROBLEM IS THE TREMORS. I'M ALREADY ON THE HIGHEST DOSAGE OF THE MEDS SO THERE IS NOT MUCH I CAN DO ABOUT IT. I HAD BRAIN SURGERY LAST YEAR BUT THAT ONLY HELPED ONE HAND.
I'VE HEARD THAT ALL CAPS MEANS I'M SHOUTING BUT IT'S NOT SO AND IT'S BETTER THAN ME SENDING GOBBLEDEGOOK.

That's okay, Chuck21.

Those of us who have been here a while know that it is you and that you're not really shouting.

Been a long time ago since typing class. Those of us who can touch type now have forgotten the challenge of figuring which hand will be pressing the key for the capital letter and then using the opposite hand to press the SHIFT key before pressing the key for the letter!

THAT'S OKAY, CHUCK21.
