I won't be in a hurry to get rid of Hubert even after the merger is complete.
I do anticipate that rates will be less competitive then but willing to wait and see if their excellent customer service survives.

I am always going to retain one MB CU because of the unlimited insurance, and this is the best of the lot. There have been times when it has been very convenient for me to be able to dump a large amount of cash somewhere for short term and not have to worry about the insurance, and this will almost certainly happen again. For a while I used Steinbach for this purpose as their rates were higher for large amounts but I find them far more trouble than they are worth and will be closing that membership next month.

Agree - Hubert has its benefits - the insurance, the one year Term, cashable quarterly and the great service. It will be interesting to see if things stay at least the same, or deteriorate once the amalgamation occurs.

I am a new Hubert client and have significant funds there because of the insurance.

I am locked in at 2% for 1 year but I can cash after 3 months.

I too will not move a .5% because of the insurance and because Hubert has the best customer service I have ever experienced. I don't say that lightly because I have deal with almost all the players in canada over the years.
