This morning, Hubert sent me an email with a link to their latest survey. I could be wrong, but I'm guessing most (if not all) Hubert members were sent this survey.

I'll complete the survey in the next couple of days, but I thought we might want to share some thoughts first.

Any comments/ideas/suggestions ❓

Thanks, Dean.

I didn't get the survey (yet).

I have 3 issues:

1. Lack of sufficient colour contrast and thin fonts on their website. This is a problem for those of us with vision problems. It's the worst site I deal with in this regard.

2. Login problems. Sometimes I am unable to log in for no reason.

3. Website is difficult to navigate. It can be hard to find what I'm looking for.

Everything takes time. Once I made a suggestion to ING DIRECT before Scotiabank bought them. It took 5 months to implement the change. Lots of people involved in the change process.

Last year I made a suggestion to my MB CU. The CSR said suggestion would be passed to management. No change yet. They have to evaluate if enough clients to justify change.

Have a Great Day

I prefer the previous version of their website. It was faster and more user friendly. Before, you can immediately see the maturity date of your Term deposit after login in. Now, you need to click a link to show it.

Other than that, their interest rate is usually somewhere in the middle in the chart. I did not move my money out of Hubert for more than 5 years. I estimated that I could have make an extra of $500 to more than a thousand per year if I'm not lazy.

Lots of good comments, so far ❗ sf-smile

I'll put together a list of my concerns with Hubert, and post them here this weekend.

Ciao for now,

Other than they are now tied for last spot in the HISA rate chart, I'm happy with them ....and my liquid funds are happy in other FI's with better rates.

Not sure why but I never received the survey. Perhaps it is because I no longer hold large balances with them - although I am keeping the account open in case they raise their rates. sf-confused

I did not receive the survey either, nor my spouse. It appears to have been a targeted survey.

My Wife (also a Hubert member) didn't get the survey either ... so Yes, it must be a 'targeted' survey.

As to why they chose me for survey, I have no idea. All totaled, I only have
~ $125K with them now.

Go Figure ❗

These are some of the concerns I'll be mentioning when I complete Hubert's latest survey . . .
.

1.) Hubert's GIC rates have fallen to the Bottom Half of the CHISBA Chart:
    https://www.highinterestsavings.ca/gic-rates/
    .
2.) Hubert's Savings Account rates are now the Lowest on the CHISBA Chart: https://www.highinterestsavings.ca/chart/
    .
3.) Hubert's new Two-Step Verification (2SV) sign-in process has a major Flaw. When "Answer one of my security questions" is selected, the web browser 'Auto Fill' is allowed to provide the answers ... thus defeating 2SV security. To my knowledge, no other FI allows 'Auto Fill' to provide the answers to security questions.
    .
4.) Unfortunately, Hubert's new website has slow response times, and many find it awkward to navigate. The old website was much faster, and easier to use.
    .
5.) In spite of the new website, Hubert's online process of adding new GICs to one's account, still doesn't offer the option to indicate maturity instructions. All the other FI's I deal with, provide this feature. It's almost industry standard now.
    .
    6.)

.

Any other suggestions ❓

Thanks,

    Dean

Actually...off the top of my head...all my credit card and bank sites are pre-filled on my desktop EXCEPT Home Trust visa. they make me enter my user name every time, but page 2 is pre-filled in. Mobile phone is fill in the blanks every time.

WOW ⬆ ❗❗

Except for Hubert, ALL of my FI's (& CC's) block 'Autofill' from answering security questions.

Allowing Autofill to answer security questions, defeats the purpose of security questions.

This morning I 'Finally' got around to doing Hubert's latest survey (run by SurveyMonkey). As it turned out, it only took me ~15 seconds, because their 'survey' only had one (1) question ... What A Joke ❗

The survey question

"How likely is it that you would recommend Hubert Financial to a friend or colleague?"

Out of a choice of 1 to 10, I gave them a 3. And then in the Comments Box, using Copy & Paste, I entered my reasons why (see Post #11 above).

No, I don't expect to hear back from them. And this is the last Hubert survey I'll ever bother with.

Lesson learned sf-confused

On What? Your laptop? Smartphone? Home desktop? Definitely not on my phone or laptop (if I had one). But my desktop....for sure. I have 2 separate antivirus/malware programs, 4 programs watching where I'm web surfing and 2 firewalls. Never click on links in emails and don't use the cloud for sensitive information. Security experts recommend using password managers as they provide virtually un-crackable passwords not even you can remember, and they log in for you. Far better than your birthday, address or "password123". I'm at the age where I'm shedding more brain cells than I can afford...remembering passwords for all my sites is a bit much. I guess if someone breaks into my home and figures out my desktop password, they can have at er.

One other Hubert idiosyncrasy I forgot to mention. Their dumb "VIEW ACCOUNT" function. Opens up showing transactions from the 1st of the current month... so if you want to check your transactions (like interest paid the day before) , you have to change the date range manually....EVERY TIME! Should open up showing the last x amount of transactions, or last 30 days. Maybe get real fancy and offer a drop down for various time frames. Real high tech stuff.

Rick ... I access Hubert's website from both my desktop & laptop.

And there's no question that Hubert's new website is full of quirks, warts, and shortcomings. But that subject has been beat to death here several times on this site, already.

Will Hubert ever fix the problems with their website❓ At one time, I had High Hopes ... but so much time has passed now, I'm beginning to think they'll never do anything about it.

Adding Hubert's Low SA & GIC Rates to the mix, I continue to move my money to Greener Pastures. By this time next year, I should be completely out of the Hubert CU.
